Durable Strings

I have been using GHS Boomers since the mid 90's. I played in a band at that time so I had to change strings often but when I started using the Boomers they seemed to last longer and were more durable than other 9 gauge strings. I also got the sound and feel I was looking for in an electric string.

More updated review

I posted my last review in 2012, and feel it would be good to give a more current review since I have used these for nearly a year. I have not played another brand on my Strat in the last year. I last said that these strings are great for a mellow dirty tone, but they shine through quite well on more up front and in your face tone. I have played a lot of various music with them, including King's X, Offspring, RHCP, etc, and these strings cut the bill every single time. Again, highly recommended for lasting tone and durability. Off to buy another set now.

Only strings I will use

I have been using these strings for years on my electrics. I would recommend these over the more expensive Elixirs. In my experience they are just as good, and probably better. Just use something like Fast Fret after you play, and these strings will last as long as the more expensive ones, and in all the years I have been using these strings I have never had a single string break!!!! Give'em a try. You won't regret it!

Great strings

Ive used classic Fender strings on my Strat for a while. I play a lot of Pink Floyd and thought I'd give these a try since that's what David Gilmour uses. I was pleasantly surprised. While they aren't as bright as the Fender strings, they definitely aren't dull. I would describe the sound as a mid-boosted mellow sound. Plenty of low end but not too much, and the highs come through well but aren't shrill. They sustain well and hold tuning well. Great for warm dirty tones, but especially nice for a clean sound.
