This traditional acoustic instrument celebrates Gretsch's roots in American music

Part of their Roots collection, the G9110-L gives you a chance to own one of Gretsch's earliest instruments. Everyone knows Gretsch electric guitars and drums, but did you know that they got their start in 1883 as a banjo company? It wasn't long before Gretsch was making mandolins, ukuleles, and eventually flat-top guitars, contributing to the very roots of American music. So when you pick up a Gretsch G9110-L, you're holding more than a great ukulele, you're holding a piece of American music history.

Concert body gives you a sweet and expressive voice

If you're looking for a mellower sound than a traditional soprano uke, then you're sure to enjoy the slightly lower register of the Gretsch G9110-L's concert body style. Many people also find the deeper concert body more comfortable to play and the longer-scaled neck gives you more room and more notes to play with.

Mahogany provides the perfect combination of warm tone and powerful projection

To provide the G9110-L ukelele the warmth and projection of their classic models, Gretsch crafted its top, back, and sides from mahogany. Along with a bone nut and saddle, as well as a real rosewood bridge and fingerboard, the G9110-L gives you the bright sound you'd expect from a traditional uke.

Onboard Fishman Kula electronics provide natural sound when you play plugged in

Designed to bring out the naturally bright and full sound of your Gretsch G9110-L, the Fishman Kula ukulele onboard preamp system makes playing plugged in a real pleasure. It's 3-band EQ gives you an extra level of control over your G9110-L's sound, and a surface-mounted compartment gives you easy-access to the Kula system's 9V battery. What's more, the Fishman Kula system also equips the G9110-L with a handy chromatic tuner, something no ukulele player should be without.

Gretsch G9110-L Long-neck Acoustic-electric Concert Ukulele Features:
  • A fantastic ukulele that re-creates one of the fundamental instruments of American music and celebrates Gretsch's heritage
  • Concert body gives you the instantly recognizable sound of the most traditional kind of ukulele

Very Happy With this one!

I am just learning about stringed insturments. My mother died and I was left with her vintage Martin soprano uke. I joined a uke group just to test the water. I found playing the soprano very very difficult. Ok, so I'm a little bit on the large size at 6'6" with hands to match. I was getting really frustrated when one of the guys there suggested I try his long necked Gretsch. It was a quantum leap of difference in ease of play. So I ordered one that night. Now that I have some experience with it, I really love it. It has a nice brite sound and I have learned to strum it. I am amazed at the sound. I never thought a uke could sound that good.Only problem is finding a case. The gig bag that comes with is not padded and not the zipper is falling apart. And because of the smaller concert body with the longer neck it will not fit in a concert case and it could get lost in most tenor cases. I found one that works pretty well. it's the Hola! Heavy Duty TENOR (up to 27 Inch) Ukulele Gig Bag with 15mm Padding. I wouldn't call it heavy duty, but at $ it is pretty good.

The G9110-L

I bought this one for Cathy, and I was amazed at the tone, finish and overall quality of this instrument after tuning it and giving it a test spin I didn't want to give it to her but I did. :) Marshall Oliver did it again this is a winner. Call Marshall and let him get you one.

The Sweetwater Touch

I just ordered the Gretsch 9110-L, this makes the fourth Ukulele I have ordered from Sweetwater and they never cease to amaze me with their attention to detal and how they do business in general. They are truely more of a friend than a mere merchant. All of the instruments I have purchased from them are set up perfectly and in tune right out of the box. Marshall Oliver is the man that takes care of me give him a call if you are new to Sweetwater....and you will do all of your business here.

inferior product

it rattles at the bridge when I play it. I built a $25 uke kit awhile that sounded better. its NOT the GRETSCH quality I expected.
