Great 12 String
I already own a Gretsch 6122 1959 and I really like it for its sound and ease of playing so be aware I may be prejudiced.
I have a 12 string Washburn acoustic guitar and love the unplugged sound, but it is more difficult to play than a 6 string acoustic.
I happened upon a used 6122 12 string for about 40% off the new price and snapped it up.
It sounds so nice through any of the amps I've used - Roland VGA 7, 60watt Fender Supersonic head and 4x12 Fender Cabinet and even the el cheapo Monoprice 1x10 practice amp.
It's also so easy to play. I almost don't have to press the strings down the action is so low. I am careful not to strum the strings hard to avoid buzzing, but I have an amp for loudness unlike the acoustic 12 string.
Fit, finish, and feel at all 5 stars IMHO.
This one is a keeper!
Gretsch does suggest to tune the guitar a half or even a whole step low to reduce tension on the neck from the 12 strings and then use a capo at the first or second fret to bring the tuning back up to standard tuning.
