Classic G6120 Tone, Equipped for Performance

The Gretsch G6120T Players Edition Nashville hollowbody electric guitar delivers that classic Gretsch tone and feel, while providing performance-focused modern enhancements. For example, the Bigsby B6GP vibrato tailpiece has a string-through design that makes it easier to change strings while also enhancing sustain. The slim (2.25") body helps fight feedback onstage, while maintaining full hollowbody tone thanks to the custom bracing pattern. Complete with a pair of High Sensitive Filter'Tron humbucking pickups, the Gretsch G6120T Players Edition Nashville delivers iconic hollowbody tone in a gig-ready instrument.

Gretsch G6120T Players Edition Nashville Hollowbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Filter'Tron pickups deliver classic Gretsch humbucker tone
  • Slim body helps fight feedback onstage
  • Expressive Bigsby vibrato with string-through design
Filter'Tron pickups deliver classic Gretsch humbucker tone

When you want that classic '50s-era archtop guitar tone, you need real Gretsch humbuckers. That's why Gretsch gave their G6120T Players Edition Nashville a pair of Filter'Tron pickups. Unlike most humbuckers, these traditional Gretsch pickups give you a characteristically bright and open sound that's jangly on your highs with an almost single-coil bite.

Slim body helps fight feedback onstage

With a body thickness around 2.25", the Gretsch G6120T Players Edition Nashville is slimmer than many other hollowbody electrics you'll find at Sweetwater. That helps reduce feedback when playing onstage with loud amplifiers. And Gretsch customized the bracing pattern of the G6120T Players Edition Nashville to make sure that you get full hollowbody tone and depth despite the slimmer size.

Expressive Bigsby vibrato with string-through design

You can't beat the sound of a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece for expressive guitar licks, and the Bigsby B6GP on this Gretsch has a string-through design that makes it even faster to change strings. This design also helps enhance sustain and note definition, helping each note ring as clear as a bell.

Gretsch G6120T Players Edition Nashville Hollowbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Hollowbody guitar with maple laminate body
  • Slim 2.25" body helps fight feedback onstage
  • Dual Filter'Tron pickups for classic Gretsch guitar tone
  • Bigsby B6GP vibrato tailpiece for expressive bends and flutters
  • String-through bridge design enhances sustain and note definition
  • Treble Bleed circuit maintains clarity when rolling back the volume knob
  • Schaller gold locking tuners for exceptional tuning stability
Timeless tone awaits in the Gretsch G6120T Players Edition Nashville.

Wonderful Mix of Old and New

Everything about this guitar speaks to the quality of Japanese guitar manufacturers. I had one of the G6120 copy Electromatics, and while it was a very nice guitar, I had to change the PUPS to TV Jones Classics and put in a better wiring harness. This Nashville Players edition needs nothing. I have TV Jones Brian Setzer PUPS in a Cabronita I redid and they are the best PUPS I have ever used, but the stock PUPS in the Nashville will stay. There is just not enough difference to justify putting the Setzers in. The guitar is just beautiful. The inside looks as well done as the outside. The Japanese are meticulous. But here is the deal...It's plays and sounds great in live situations. Gretsch really did listen to actual players when they put the "Players" series together. The slightly thinner body allows for an intimacy I didn't experience with the Electromatic. The pinned bridge is wonderful. I much prefer it to the floating bridge. The locking tuners and string through bigsby are great improvements. The new bracing must accomplish what it sets out to do because I didn't notice a smaller tone at all. It's wider than a 335 type guitar but just a bit thinner than an old style 6120. The PUPS have the Gretsch jangle, but also take distortion really well. The PUPS are very articulate without being sterile. Also the pricing is about the best I have seen on the Japanese Gretsch guitars. I have been wanting one for years. I'm glad I waited for the Players edition...it is just right for me. If you have always wanted a 6120, this guitar will not disappoint.I purchased this guitar from Sweetwater. The Sweetwater "advantage" is not what I would call a setup by any means, but they do take it out of the box and check it out as opposed to shipping whatever comes from the manufacturer. I like the "Guitar Gallery" feature. Sweetwater really does seem to set the bar for the online music stores. One of the main reasons I do business with them is the shipping department really seems to care how they send 'em to me. They take great care packaging the product and are darn fast as well. Probably the quickest in the business. It would be hard to go wrong dealing with them.
Music background: Many years playing with on and off weekend gigging.
