A Value-packed Gretsch Semi-hollowbody w/Bigsby

The G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway puts a genuine Gretsch semi-hollowbody electric guitar in your hands for less. This guitar doesn't skimp on quality, however. It delivers an incredibly snappy, open tone, thanks to its 5-ply arched maple body. Broad'Tron pickups balance out the Streamliner's tone beautifully. A weight-relieved spruce center block imbues the Streamliner with true hollowbody tone, while also keeping feedback under control - even in high-gain situations. Topped off with a Bigsby tailpiece for gentle vibrato effects, the Gretsch G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway semi-hollowbody electric guitar delivers classic big body sounds at a reasonable price.

Gretsch G2622T Streamliner Semi-hollowbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • 5-ply maple body provides your tone with excellent definition
  • Long spruce center block delivers feedback-free hollowbody tone
  • Three volume controls + one tone control = exceptional sonic flexibility
  • Bigsby tailpiece yields smooth vibrato action
5-ply maple body provides your tone with excellent definition

Maple has to be one of the most lively, bright, and colorful tonewoods out there, which is exactly why Gretsch decided to make their G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway almost entirely out of this wonderful wood. This semi-hollowbody's 5-ply arched laminated body yields a wonderfully snappy, open tone that, when combined with the balanced character of its Broad'Tron pickups, cuts through a dense mix and sounds great in any situation.

Long spruce center block delivers feedback-free hollowbody tone

You get a lot of tonal bang for your buck with the Gretsch G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway, thanks to its long spruce center block. Running the full length of the body, the center block allows the otherwise hollow body to resist resonant-frequency feedback. At Sweetwater, we've found that this weight-relieved center block lets us rock out louder, with more gain, without our amplifier squealing out of control. Spruce is a snappy tonewood too, and since the center block connects with the bridge, the note definition, clarity, and sustain on the Streamliner are amazing.

Three volume controls + one tone control = exceptional sonic flexibility

It's easy to stereotype the Gretsch G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway until you play it, and then you realize you can pull off a lot of tonal tricks with it. With a volume control for each pickup, you can create your perfect balance between warmth, bite, and brilliance when both pickups are engaged. The master tone control lets you fine-tune your sound once you've got the pickups dialed in. And thanks to the master volume control, you can take your tube amp from clean to growling without changing the balance between your pickups. Of course, you'll get sweet tone from the neck and bridge pickups individually, but there's a lot of territory to cover when you combine them.

Bigsby tailpiece yields smooth vibrato action

Nothing beats the character and vintage vibe that a real Bigsby-style tailpiece adds to the Gretsch G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway. Based on the original design created by Paul A. Bigsby, this Bigsby Licensed tailpiece requires next to no effort to use, making it particularly easy to pull off slow, subtle, and extended bends.

Gretsch G2622T Streamliner Semi-hollowbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Semi-hollowbody electric guitar with classic Gretsch styling

Outstanding Dealer = Awesome Product

From POP to Rock, Blues to Jazz, this muscle has its right block. I've played this with all my ability yet still giving me so much. I don't believe this guitar is Gretsch low range, or correct me, I dont think Gretsch build low range guitar at all. I bought two guitars from this dealer already and I'm very impressed, many thanks to Sweetwater Family for the best online buying experience. My personal thanks to James Masterson (Sales Engineer) for keeping track on transactions and future updates of interest.

I now own two Gretsch guitars

I bought a new Gretsch G5420T That has the Filtertron pick ups Big Hollowbody. I found that guitar to be extremely well made with plenty of twang and everything you would expect from Gretsch now owned by Fender, at a price that is outstanding for what you get. I have also purchased the G2622T Streamliner. It sounds a bit like a Gibson 335 and a Gretsch all in one guitar. There are guitars and there there are Instruments. I would consider the Gretsch line to be quality Instruments regardless of which one you buy. I have been playing for 53 years and I can Honestly tell you spending a lot of money for a guitar anymore just doesn't make sense when you can get this kind of quality for thousands less. I have owned enough $2000 to $4000 guitars to know. I have bought several products on line and I think from all my purchases online that Sweetwater is the best online dealer there is when it comes to price, service and customer support. I would highly recommend this guitar for any level player. You can not go wrong at this price. This guitar is not made for Heavy Metal but will cover anything else you want to play. I am using a Bugera 55 Infinium Combo Amp also purchased from Sweetwater. Another great product that competes with the big dogs for a lot less. The sound is pure and clean as can be on the clean channel and can get dirty on the overdrive channel but I prefer my Wampler pedals so I use the clean channel mostly. I have owned just about every Gibson and Fender guitar made as well as many other brands. The guitars that are being made today from the other side of the world are just as good as any of them and in fact better than some. I am not trying to sell you on buying anything at all. I am just telling the truth about this guitar and some others and that comes from professional experience. I hope this helps you on your quest to find a quality Instrument at a Price that leaves you wondering how they do it so well for so little money.

Streamliner G2622T Fun Guitar

I bought this Guitar for a different sound as opposed to my solid body and acoustical guitars. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound coming out of the G2622T. To me it was softer sounding (neck pick-up), to get a more twangy/bright sound (bridge pickup) as opposed to my solid body. The quality and build is really good; the look is great; the intonation was right on; fret board to strings and pickups was well aligned; I like the the massive Bigsby tremolo bar; it stays in tune pretty well; the electronics are responsive. The only thing I had to get use to was the size, which didn't take long. Great guitar. The support and delivery from Sweetwater was excellent.
