A High-gain Hollowbody with a Bigsby

The Gretsch G2420T Streamliner Hollowbody electric guitar was built for players looking for an affordable archtop guitar that is equally as comfortable offering the identifiable Gretsch sound as it is higher-gain rock tones. The floating bridge and fully hollow construction are great for smoky jazz tones. Two custom-wound Broad'Tron humbucking pickups offer a powerful voice with balanced lows, mids, and highs. And a Bigsby licensed B-50 vibrato gives the G2420T subtle pitch control. The Gretsch G2420T Streamliner is a wonderful blend of old-school personality and new-school tonality at an amazing value.

Classic Gretsch appointments

The G2420T Streamliner sticks close to what has made Gretsch guitars look so desirable over the years. A pair of F-holes displays the guitar's voluptuous hollowbody. The G2420T is also decorated with vintage-looking, 2-ply white and black binding that wraps the entirety of the instrument. And the nickel hardware, branded tailpiece, and pearloid block inlays ensure the G2420T will look as great onstage as it does hanging up in our Sweetwater retail store.

Vintage and modern tones

The G2420T Streamliner uses vintage-style construction and a modern electronics package to deliver tones that will fit equally well with a jazz trio as it will with a hard-rocking rockabilly band. The fully hollow design adds warmth and roundness to the guitar's tone. And a Bigsby licensed B-50 vibrato allows for Duane Eddy-style pitch bends. But the custom-wound Broad'Tron humbucking pickups are engineered to deliver plenty of output that can easily put you into hard rock tonal territory.

Built with the player in mind

Gretsch's G2420T Streamliner Hollowbody plays and feels every bit as good as it sounds. Its thin "U" neck profile is round enough that chording remains comfortable in all positions, while being thin enough to facilitate fleet-fingered runs. The full-size, single-cutaway construction is comfortable against your body, and it gives you access to the guitar's higher frets. The controls have even been thoughtfully laid out to pull a wide range of tones from the guitar.

Gretsch G2420T Streamliner Hollowbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Hollowbody electric guitar with high-output humbuckers
  • 2 powerful Broad'Tron humbuckers
  • Bigsby vibrato allows for subtle pitch control
  • Hollow design adds warmth and a woody tone
  • Thin "U" neck profile is comfortable
  • Vintage-looking ornamentation
The Gretsch G2420T Streamliner Hollowbody can blend jazz and rock tones with ease.

Very Nice!

I Haven't had a Gretsch guitar in quite a few years since I sold an old Country Gentleman that I bought in the '70s.I was never really all that happy with the twangy Gretsch sound.I bought this guitar on a whim and I'm blown away by how much I like it, It played great right out of the box and has a much sweeter and more subtle tone than other Gretsch's that I've played. The newly designed pickups are sweet! and I really like the looks of the guitar as well.I think Gretsch hit one out of the park on this....I love it!

Nice guitar

Had the guitar for a little over a month, there are a few little glitches that have to be worked out. (but is that way with most guitars). have done a few little adjustments to satisfy for my liking, but overall an awesome guitar , sounds great, plays great, I think it is definitely one of my new favorites!

Sounds like a Gretsch and then some!

I was looking for a hollow-body Jazz sounding guitar. This Gretsch not only does that, it can really rip on the high end. It's a little bigger than I thought but it's georgous! I like just having it to look at.
Music background: Always a player

GRETCH HAS STOPPED MAKING GOOD QUAILTY GUITARS FOR YEARS, I GOT THE 6120 DE MODEL WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT I SOLD IT NOT LONG AGO ITS A REAL JOKE IT HAS NO DUANE EDDY SOUND THIS 2420 IS JUST AS BAD I BET WHEN YOU SEE HUMBUCKERS ON ANY GUITAR YOU KNOW THE QUALITY IS POOR, GRETCH NEEDS TO CLOSE DOWN .
