Awesome Guitar

I absolutely love this guitar, it has such a deep and rich sound guitar, and materials are top notch. Takes awhile to get comfortable playing it, just look away from neck and you'll be fine. The minute I stair at all those strings makes me choke and botch up my classical pieces. Also this thing has a great feel. If your wanting to try to expand your options this is the guitar for you. You truly get a lot for the money.

Absolutely Fantastic

I upgraded from a 6 string Yamaha C40 to this 8 string guitar and I couldn't be happier. The build quality is superb, the finish is flawless, and the sound is beautiful. The front and the back of the guitar resonate with every plucked string, projecting each note with lively clarity. Before receiving the guitar, I was somewhat concerned about the tightness and clarity of the low end. Having played 8 string electric guitars, I know that the low strings can get a little bit "flubby" when tuned low. However, I've had no problems with the low end on this guitar. The guitar came tuned BDEADGBE, and all notes rang beautifully. If you are tuning much lower than that, you might need to swap the strings for something heavier. I tuned the lower strings to F# B and they felt a bit loose with some volume loss. However, I didn't have any problems with intonation. The customer service from Sweetwater was top notch. You can surf around the web and find nothing but praise for their service, and they deserve every bit of it. After buying the guitar, I was assigned a personal sales rep (Kyle) who called to confirm the order and talk about music. Super friendly, super helpful, and miles better than any other online purchase I've made. If you're choosing between Sweetwater and any other web store, choose Sweetwater. Seriously, you won't regret it.

I love this guitar. It looks beautiful, sounds sweet, and feels great. I particularly enjoy the consistency across the range of the instrument. I am completely satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this item to anyone interested in extended range guitars.

Beautiful sound for an amazing price!

If you an a fan of Ibanez then , yes this is an Ibanez through and through. Beautiful tone and wood. It is a traditional acoustic classical, no electronics. It even has the original Ibanez Salvador name on the label. Great action and it come with a great case. I would put up against a guitar 4 times it's price. I personally won't play anything but Ibanez but that's me Also Sweetwater is the BEST music company I have dealt with. The service is second to none and headache free, that's worth a mint right there. The sales engineer makes it possible to find out if something is exactly what you need BEFORE youy buy it and very knowledgable and cool to talk music with as well. I go to sweetwater first now for anything. And no, I do not work there, I'm just that impressed and I am EXTREMELY picky.

Overall good

When I ordered the guitar I was expecting it to not be so good. I just wanted an 8-string guitar to have as a guitar to not care so much about, when I'm out busking or don't want to use my 8,000 dollar 8-string. But it actually sounds pretty good for that price! Better than most guitars under 1,000 dollars. So I was surprised with that. But you have to realize that the guitar does not have many different colors or personalities. But you can still get a good sound out of it. What I didn't like about this guitar, is that the size and the string spacing is way to big. At least for me. You have to have pretty big hands to be able to fret those 2 extra strings. I took it to a workshop that lowered the space between the strings, by making a new top nut (to 64 mm) and making some new holes in the saddle. My 8th string is now in the hole of the 7nth, so its a bit smaller. In my opinion when you play 7 or 8 string guitars, the purpose should be that you can fret those extra bass strings, it's not like a 10 string (or more) where the guitar probably will serve a purpose as some kind of a lute guitar. So keep in mind that playing an 8-string will probably have to force you to reduce the string spacing a little, and be careful so that you don't strain your hands. If you have been playing 6-stringed guitars and now jumps on the the 8-string, your hands will probably be have to learn how to be relaxed while reaching a little further. It is also easy to strain your right hand while not being used to the basses. Practice being as relaxed as possible. Overall a pretty good deal. Comes in an OK case, but pretty bulky and heavy to carry. Make sure you don't injure your hands and arms too while carrying this thing around.
