More Than What I Hoped For !

I had bought a Digitech RP-70 a couple of weeks ago, and to be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with it, so I returned it a couple of days ago to the retailer that I bought it from. In it's place, I ended up buying this processor instead and I'm glad that I did. This blows away anything that Digitech has out IMO. The amp models & effects do not sound sterile, and the Acoustic guitar setting is by far the best that I've ever heard. Setting up your presets on this is as easy as 1,2,3 and only take a matter of minutes depending on what you're looking for. Plus, this pedal has a Deezel as one of it's amp models which is a huge plus.

    Zoom G1Next

My second G1 just gave up so I bought this G1Next to replace it. The unit is as easy to use as the previous one, but I was not able to set up the same custom patches that I had on my previous 2 units. The available option selections in the parameters just were different in some cases and the default patches were generally mostly new as well. I was able to set up custom patches similar to what I had before, some better some not quite as good as in the earlier models. Overall I am satisfied. I find the unit to be very flexible and offer quite a lot of options in a small portable package and for a very affordable price. They are not made of stone however (no stomp boxes are) and they do need replacement every so often. This is my third one in 8-9 years (maybe longer) of moderate use. My first succumbed to the heat and humidity during a tour of Brazil. The second had the 12V input go out. Although it still works fine with only batteries, I like to run off the 12V power supply and keep the batteries in for back up. Which is exactly what I needed when the 12V input failed just before a performance. However, with all the benefits of this little unit, unless anything new comes up I will still probably buy another one of these when this one needs replacing.

    Zoom G1N

I like this Zoom much better than the Digitech RP it replaces. The reviews I read on the G1N were pretty accurate: metalheads will love this pedal, but there’s a lot there for everyone; the relative volume of the non-editable patches (presets) is crazy variable, rendering using several of them on back-to-back songs a ridiculous process; and half of the read-only patches are useless, but quite a few are both accurate & well worth further investigation. These can be easily copied to a user-editable patch & tweaked.

The tools are there to set up the user editable patches in a lot of useful ways. Guitar volume has a big affect on the tone: wimpy clean patches do come alive by turning up the guitar. Adding boost or compression improves them even more. Setting the overall pedal volume low allows my small tube amps to be run hot, which provides a nice place to start with the patches.

Can you make it sound like a boutique amp worth thousands of $? No. But you are not going to find a better bargain than this very good sounding multi-effects pedal. Highly recommended.

    12 Year old Loves it!

I bought this for my 12 year old son who is studying electric guitar. I was concerned that it might be difficult to figure out, but he had it with no assistance in an hour. He absolutely loves it. It is perfect for him because it has so many sounds to choose from while he is learning and experimenting with his sound and style. By far his favorite Christmas present!

Everything I hoped for minus a little

I bought this multi effects and when i got it finally i was blown away...It takes a while to get used to all the presets but WOW...
The only thing wrong with this pedal is that it has kind of a short sustain, but other than than AWESOME!

    didn't last long

Had it for about 6 months then went to use it and it didn't work. Tried using several outlets but it wouldn't work. This is the second zoom I have had. Not going to own another one. Very disappointed.
