Mixed w/ Greenback
Wanted to swap out one speaker in an AC30C2. Couldn't really live with greenback's lack of clean bass and treble, always used an extension cab with old G12-80's along side. Now with the G12T-75 mixed with the stock greenback, the chewy, woody sort of midrange is still present along with some nice extended bass and treble. When using the AC30 T.B. channel eq with 2 greenbacks installed, the closer I got to the treble/bass frequencies I wanted, the boxier the sound became to my ears. T-75 speaker has so far been allowing lots more high freq. with the treble at a more "normal" position on the amp.
In trying to research this combo when I thought about it, it seems Neil Schon from Journey has used these two speakers before in an "X" pattern 4X12?
Also wanted to note that other reviews lean towards saying this speaker is too boomy and muddy, as well as piercing. This hasn't been my experience at all with a cranked AC30, although a closed cab will be different Im sure. I'm sure it's only going to get better as it breaks in
