Perfect combination

WOW! This speaker is just awesome. I have been looking for a replacement for the Vintage 30's that came in my Avatar vintage 2X12 cab and, after much research and debate, I decided on a G12H(75) paired with a G12H(55) to play my Orange TH30 head through. This is what I have been trying to get this amp to sound like since I bought it almost two years ago! After trying MANY different maneuvers to get this amp to sound the way I knew it should, I finally decided that a speaker swap was the best thing to do. I only wish I had made the switch sooner! I had even gone so far as to stop playing through this amp for gigs and band practices because I just wasn't satisfied with the over-all sound and feel. Now I am seriously thinking about moving it back into the number one slot and keeping my 1987x at home and in reserve for only larger-venue gigs. These speakers really bring out the great lower mid-range growl, sustain, feel and dynamics that my amp has to offer with a nice tight low end and well-defined top end. Chords have great definition when played with and without overdrive. The V30's always seemed too bright and shrill / brittle with an overly flabby lower register and dull mids when paired with the Orange. But now I couldn't be happier. These things just sing, straight out of the box and plugged straight into the amp. Paired with an SL Drive, Ge fuzz, Hot Cake and / or Empress EQ and these things kick some serious classic '70's rock tones. I can't wait to hear what they sound like after they have some hours on them. Top marks!!!

Amazing speakers! These things are alive in my 4x12.

Amazing speakers! These things are alive in my 4x12. They fill the venue with buttery smooth tones and make it easy to extract the best sounds possible from my gear. Replaced Celestion Vintage 30's Used with: PRS 2 Channel Custom 50 PRS Custom 24 Eventide Timefactor Xotic EP Boost

Fuller Sound

I replaced the stock celestion in a 2002 1960A cab with 2 of these & 2 55hz in an "x" pattern. Still breaking them in, but soloing is not as sterile as before & note definition is more clear. I play single coil strats & humbucker equipped Gibsons. I play through a 1987 model Marshall head & practice with a jcm 900. I play Hendrix, Clapton, Gibbons, SRV type music.
