If you are looking for the ultimate guitar for the ultimate sound look no farther then the Parker Fly.
Ken Parker is perhaps the greatest gift that the modern guitar player could ask for; The Parker Fly is the best guitar that I have ever played.
One of the things that I think that I love most about the Parker Fly is the ease of use; This guitar is so light weight it is like playing pure clean air. The guitar is so light I almost forget that I have it strapped on, this is quite a difference considering that the other guitars that I am use to playing have been Les Paulís, Ibanezís and ESPís. I would say that the Parker fly is more playable and more fun to play then any Gibson or ESP that I have ever played.
The closest feel that I think that I could compare this guitar to is the Ibanez Saber Series, Thin sleek and easy to manipulate, standing or sitting down. But the parker is so much lighter, and the neck in my opinion is so much sleeker and faster then the Wizard II neck that is mounted to the Saber series guitar, and for me loving the saber as much as I do that is saying quite a lot.
I use to play the Gibsonís and the ESPís for the deep rich Metal sound that so many of us are seeking, but I found that this sound comes with a huge price, the weight.
Now do not take this the wrong way, nothing feels quite the same in your hands like a classic Les Paul or V, but after playing the Parker going back to the Les is like playing a rail road tie with strings.
Now the Metal/rock/blues sound combinations that you can get from the parker is amazing, with the ability of mixing in the piezo and the different combinations of pickup selection, there is virtually no sound that you cannot pull from the Parker Fly, that is why it has virtually replaced all of the guitars that I own for time in the studio, the parker is the only guitar that I use in the studio now.
The acoustic sound from the parker is amazing, it is virtually the only guitar that you need, with the Fishman Piezo pickups give a rich acoustic sound, no need to break out the acoustic for that ballad, play it on the parker, and spare yourself the hassle of breaking out the guitar that you have come to know as ďthe beastĒ.
So in conclusion, if you are reading this review, trying to form an opinion on the Parker Fly versus other manufacturers, trust me after playing some of the best guitars out there, my next guitar for personal, studio, and general use, will all have the Parker name on the headstock.
