Perfect for my needs!

By Robert B from Cumming, GA on March 11, 2021 Music Background: Worship Leader, Guitarist, Sound Engineer

This bag has been awesome so far. It holds all of my gigging gear easily, has enough pockets to not be a single mess, and allows me to carry everything comfortably. But then on a daily basis, I can still carry my laptop easily without having to switch bags. Also, the messenger bag strap attaches to the main bag, and what I've found is that even if you have the laptop bag detached and elsewhere, you can still easily sling the main bag over your shoulder with the messenger strap.

The only complaints I have are things I didn't really think about beforehand, and not necessarily issues with the bag itself. First, the pouch for the laptop will be inside the zipper attaching it to the main bag, so to get to the laptop, you have to open two zippers. The second is that although removing the back is easy enough, reattaching it isn't the easiest thing.

Neither of those are bad enough to dock any points in my book though. Still the best bag I've ever owned!

A better option I didn't even think about

By Ryan from CT - Connecticut on September 20, 2019 Music Background: Musician

I had my heart set on a Gruv Gear Club Bag but they were back ordered for 3 months. Like the gear nerd that I am, I planned out how I was going to use this bag and where everything was going to go before I even got it. After waiting and finding out the manufacturer kept pushing back the shipping date, it was suggested by a sweetwater associate who had the mono bag that it was built like a tank and worth the money. I did a little research and opted for the flyby instead. I think it was a better choice. It actually holds more that I expected and I love the layout. I use this bag for my mobile studio and it works perfectly for that.

Best Gig Bag

By Bradley from Strongsville, Ohio on April 17, 2019 Music Background: Drums, guitar, bass... many years!

This bag is exactly what I was looking for in a gig bag. I use it as my stick bag as well. I can carry my midi controller, laptop, tablet, earbud case, and all the little things like drum keys, felts, adapters, power adapters, and so much more.

It's really comfortable to carry as a backpack and also has a should strap. Another user, Clifton, commented that it doesn't tip over. I set the bag on the floor by my floor tom and it does not tip over, ever!

Great bad!!!

Mono EFX Flyby- backpack

By Bob MacLeish from Florida on April 8, 2019 Music Background: Electric guitar for about 10 years, hobby.

I just bought a Fractal AX8 but they do not make a carrying case for it so I went on the hunt. I found about 4 case options to consider but ended up buying this one and fortunately hit it perfectly on the first try. My pedal fits great, well padded and protected and I can fit my XLR cable, I carry an extension chord, two guitar cables, my strap and the pack has many compartments for picks, earplugs, phone, whatever. More room than I need almost. Throw it over my show and I'm gone jammin. A little pricey but well worth it. Very sturdy and strong.
Shout out also to Joe Copenhaver and team for always being there. They are awesome! Thank you all.

This bag is AMAZING!

This bag has so many positive things, its hard to explain them without getting so excited. My favorite things are: the bag does not tip over when sit down, no matter how many things are stored in it... IT WILL NOT TIP OVER! Next favorite thing is how light it is on my back and shoulders no matter how much I have in it. Very strong build. Last but not the least, the secondary bag is GENIUS! I wish it was a little easier and quicker to detach/attach but overall an AWESOME gear bag!

My fav backpack ever so far..

By Ernest Andrew from FL on October 3, 2016

Ok so let me start with my negative first.. lol negative? Yea... my negative is lack of color options.. they used to have a steel grey orange one some years ago please bring a few color combinations to your bags Mono.. OK that's out the way.. real world use is how I judged this bag.. I've had it for almost 3 months and I use it probably 3-6 times a week as a whole bag and 7 times a week as just the laptop separate. That last part is one of the strengths of this design.. the ability to separate the back pack into a laptop backpack sleeve. Yes I'm a musician but it's my other job as a financial planner that makes me love that part of the bag.. when I go to the office I slide my laptop and files inside along with a work drive and iPod and I'm good to go.. I have people asking me about it when I'm out and about like at Starbucks.. Alright now back to the bag as whole... I've stashed a 15" MBP, Maschine, Komplete audio 6, Arterial Minilab, pedal, cables, assorted drives charger etc in this bag.. I was pleasantly surprised and would get another if they offer a few other colors

Absolutely The Best!

By Josh Miller from Dallas, TX on March 5, 2013 Music Background: Pro Musician

These are by far the best laptop bags out there. Designed specifically for musicians, these backpacks are extremely durable and spacious. I've had mine for over a year and have taken it all over the world. It looks as good as new, which is impressive for the amount of use and abuse it gets. You get what you pay for with this one!

Great gig bag for sax player

By Jake from Seattle on August 1, 2022 Music Background: Professional saxophonist

As a professional saxophonist, I really like using this gig bag. It has plenty of pocket space for all my small lose items. I like that the bag is made to stand on its own, which makes packing a lot nicer. It's really comfortable on my back, and I like the chest strap so I know it won't fall off. I play a lot of large casinos where I have to walk a decent length to the stage, and it's very nice to have a sturdy backpack that doesn't slip off my shoulders.

Not as durable as you would expect.

By Tyler Turnipseed from AVON, IN on April 7, 2022 Music Background: 15 years off and on as a drummer and guitarist

I had been enjoying this bag for about 6 months but this past weekend I went to grab my Ibanez multi-tool out of the front-bottom pouch and the orange fabric that connects it to the bag just pulled away from the bag as I was opening the pocket to grab the tool. This was super disappointing because the bag felt really sturdy and I took good care of it and it has not been subjected to any kind of abuse.

To be honest, I have barely used the bag at all as I am not currently in a band nor have I had any gigs since owning the bag. It's left my house maybe twice, it's never thrown around and mostly just stores some guitar picks, capos, cables and tuners, some guitar books and a microfiber cloth. The only thing I had stored in that pouch was a tuner, a spare graphtech nut (in its package) and my Ibanez multi-tool.

The biggest disappointment though has been trying to contact the company to submit a warranty request. I went on their site and looked up the warranty info, they require pictures and a receipt and I clicked the link to "contact" them but it takes you to their contact page which does not allow you to attach pictures/documents of any kind. At first, I tried to submit a message via their contact form anyway on 4/1/22, received no response nor a "confirmation" email to confirm they received my message. It did show a little confirmation pop-up that they "usually respond within 24 hours". Then I tried to email their support email directly on 4/4/22, still haven't received a response and it has been almost a week since the first message was sent.

I had really high hopes for this bag and for the company in general but right now I have a $ bag that already doesn't have many pockets and one of the pockets is now useless and the company just doesn't bother to respond. I'll update this if they ever do respond, or I'll give up waiting, toss the bag in the trash and just buy cheap bags that I can just replace if they break. At least, if a cheap bag breaks I don't feel like I just flushed $ down the drain!
