Multi-voice Tele Power from the Mind of Greg Koch

Fishman tapped solo artist, clinician, and T-style twanger Greg Koch to design their Fluence Gristle-Tone signature pickup set. Their dual switchable voices give you Black-Guard and White-Guard character for more chime or grunt. The pickups' active design eliminates any noise from your signal. And the Gristle-Tone pickups are run from an onboard rechargeable power supply for up to 250 hours of continual performance. The Fishman Fluence Greg Koch Gristle-Tone pickup set delivers the most iconic vintage Tele tones with none of the vintage issues.

Fishman Fluence Greg Koch Gristle-Tone Signature Pickup Set at a Glance:
  • Two iconic Tele-style tones
  • All the vintage tone, none of the noise
  • Contains all you need for installation
Two iconic Tele-style tones

The Fluence Core that powers the Gristle-Tone pickup set provides you with the choice of two selectable voices. The pickup's first voice is reminiscent of a the old White-Guard Tele-style guitars from the '60s. This is the chimey and clear sound that powers the best chicken pickin' lines. The second voice invokes a '50s Black-Guard guitar for a muscular and punchy character. The voices can be accessed by any number of standard switches or push/pull controls, and can be added as a completely reversible modification to most guitars.

All the vintage tone, none of the noise

Greg Koch has made a huge name for himself with the sound of vintage single-coil pickups. But vintage single coils often bring with them hum, buzz, and inductance issues. Fishman Fluence pickups use an active design to send a low impedance signal, allowing you to run long cable runs with no signal loss. And you won't experience any signal loading when working your volume knob for cleaning up your guitar's tone. And best of all, you can run these pickups as hot as you want with no 60-cycle hum or interference.

Contains all you need for installation

Fishman Fluence is a revolutionary new way to look at the art of pickup building. To deliver their wide range of tones, noise-free performance, and low-impedance signal, these pickups require a power source and specially designed pots. All of this is included with every pickup. Inside the package, you'll find the pickups, wiring, push-pull and standard 25k potentiometers that are ideal for the active circuitry, and more. Installing a set of Fishman Fluence pickups is a quick and easy way to achieve your electric guitar's full potential.

Buy it now.

Put them in a Reverend Eastsider T and I'm very pleased. Dead quiet even in a notoriously noisy part of my house. Smooth volume rolloff without losing highs. Super responsive tone knob. The up position white guard mode is chimey clean goodness that is perfect for chicken pickin and the black guard mode is blues heaven. Installation was pretty easy but my knobs and switch tip were the wrong size so I had to buy those. Some guitars might require routing to fit the battery on the control plate. (mine didn't) I wasn't paying attention but after about three hours the battery was fully charged and it's supposed to last 250 hours. I was worried they would be just ok and not really worth the money. I am very happy.

fishman fluence greg koch

the only problem was, on my tele standard (1992) i had to rout out for the battery and wires from the input jack and input for the usb cable, no big deal and not required on all teles. got them installed, new strings (9.5 DRs) set intonation, plugged in and **** the bed, i am the king of tone!!!!!! thank you chris from sweetwater music

This is what you want

Well, it's what I want anyway. I am thrilled with this system. I find a new nuance every day that just keeps upping my enthusiasm for this commitment. I call it a "system" because it is not just a pair of pickups. It's the whole set with new control plate with pots and switch. No need to wire in capacitors. It delivers on every point and then some. The neck pickup especially holds a ton of versatile charm. No noise and no loss of crystal clarity.

Deluxe Tele new life!

So, ever since I first played my 2015 Fender Deluxe Ash Tele, I never really cared for the N3 Noiseless pickups. Yes, they are noiseless, but they were missing the Tele sounds I've heard from major players like Vince Gill, James Burton, Jimmy Page, and many others. I finally found a solution in the Fishman Fluence Tele set. In a single word: "magnificent". They were relatively easy to install if you have some soldering skills and take your time...otherwise a guitar tech can easily install them in less than an hour. The only problem I had was two missing height adjustment screws for the bridge pickup. Note: The package does not come with another tele pickguard or knobs. You may want to order these.I've played a lot of guitars over the 40+ years I've played, but the sounds coming from this kit is simply stunning. No Noise and the sound of either a 50's overwound tele or a cleaner 60's tele. Especially cool, is the middle pickup setting. When engaged, the combination of the neck/bridge are wired out-of-phase and give a killer funky tele sound that I have not heard in many teles. So, I know a lot of players will not like the idea of having to charge up the Lithium Ion battery every 200+ ours. But, it's a small price to pay for such a great sound. I also put a Clapton mid-boost mod in my Strat and love the extra punch. I highly recommend this mod for your tele!
