Loaded Strat Pickguard - Only at Sweetwater!

Fishman Fluence Strat pickups deliver the most sought-after Stratocaster tones, from vintage sweetness to overwound punch. Unlike most wire-wound models, Fluence pickups manage to deliver the classic Strat sound - without hum, noise, or inductance issues. Installation is easy - just drop this loaded pickguard into your guitar, add a 9-volt battery or optional battery pack, and you'll be immersed in pure, uncorrupted, euphoric tone. On top of that, Fishman Fluence Strat pickups provide you with your choice of two distinctly different voices - a clear, vintage-sounding single-coil and a muscular, overwound Hot Texas single-coil - all from the same pickups.

Fishman Fluence Strat Pickups at a Glance:

Active electronics deliver classic tone without the noise

We all love the sound of vintage single-coil pickups, but they often bring 60-cycle hum, buzz, and other issues with them. With Fishman Fluence pickups, you can run hundreds of feet of guitar cable without any quality loss. Use your volume control with incredible smoothness to coax useful sounds out of your guitar, even at low settings.

Two distinct voices

The Fluence Core provides you with the choice of two unique, selectable voices. The Fluence Strat pickup's first voice is reminiscent of a vintage single-coil. Plug into your amp and treat yourself to that familiar sweet warmth, accented by clear and present articulation. The second voice invokes a Hot Texas single-coil, with its muscular, beefy, overwound tone. The voices can be accessed by any number of standard switches or push/pull controls and can be added as a completely reversible modification to most guitars.

Power supply delivers 200+ hours of use

Offering 200+ hours of playing time, Fishman Fluence pickups also fully recharge in a matter of a few hours by using a standard USB charger. These pickups utilize either a standard 9V battery, or you can use the optional Fluence battery pack. These battery packs screw onto your guitar in place of the control or spring cover, requiring no permanent modifications to your instrument.

Fishman Fluence Strat Pickups Features:
  • Active electronics deliver classic tones without noise
  • Multi-voice Fluence Core provides two selectable voices
  • Power supply delivers 200+ hours of use and recharges in a few hours
  • Drop-in installation - includes pickups, switches and pots - no permanent modification required

Making a Strat GREAT

Ok, first off I already have three Teles with Fluence pickups in them, so it was time to do one of my three Strats. Installation was a breeze (took me about and hour). The only problem was that wires that are normally included in the set without the pickguard, was missing from thi set. Luckily I had wire available to use. I also bought the battery pack, high was also easy to install. There is also a second push/pull pot for the High Pass Filter which takes the treble response ( helps cut down on brittleness when using a fuzz pedal). Overall I'm really happy with these pickups. My Consultant, Paul Allen, is my guitar tech/roadie, and his assistant Tina Parisot is part of my road crew. They take really good care of me.

Live up to the hype

I had reservations about spending the money on some more "new fangled" pickups but these are fabulous. They not only emulate vintage Strat pickups but at a good volume level too. I am impressed.

A bold change

I have several Strats A couple of American Standards, an Eric Clapton Blackie and several Mexicans and I love them all. I am a weekend gigging musician playing many different types of music and in many varied venues. A lot of these venues have bad power sources and mega lighting issues all of these things reek havoc on any single Coiled guitar. Because of this I mostly use Les Pauls which are equipped with Humbucking pickups. 2 of my Strats are supposedly noiseless equipped, but in all honesty well.....So I took a chance, there are not many, if any reviews of these Fishman pickups. I have a Fishman in one of my Martin acoustic guitars and that works great, so I figured let me try these on one of my Strats. Ok the pro's: They are easy to do the replacement operation, They fit my American standard perfectly and the 9 volt battery with a little bit of maneuvering goes in EZ. They are in fact Noiseless!!!! Even with a gang of pedals they are noise free. They have a great sound and a good range of tones. The Con's: they are not a perfect copy of the original Strat sound, that is a bit of a compromise but at many of my bar gigs I could not get all the wonderful strat sounds anyway, so I think this trade off is fair. I did not yet get the battery pack, but I will soon enough as I don't know how long the 9 volt will last and I don't want to keep opening the guitar, removing the pick guard to replace them very often. I know this is long winded but if you are thinking about making a change to your beloved instrument I hope this might help you a bit.

Fishman Fluence Pre-Wired Set

The sound is excellent. Between the three pickups there is differentiation but evenness in volume (with Fender standard string & pickup spacing). The quality of sound is very good. Lots of harmonics (almost shocking compared to the standard pickups that came in my MIM strat). There is literally NO NOISE, which I love. That said, the fitment needs some work. There is no more than enough wire length to wire this, so trim carefully. The input jack doesn't fit properly in the cavity (even if you rotate it) which makes it difficult to insert the cable (more than it should be). The push/pull pots sit so high that when they're up I could not properly use the tremolo bar. Even when they're down, I have to pull the bar up slightly to clear the knobs which makes it ineffective when using it intermittently (and how else do you use it?). One of the tone pots on mine seemed to be malfunctioning slightly so that if I pushed or pulled on it it would cut-out until it was set in its position. Even then, if I touched it while adjusting volume or using the switch it would cut out. I know they're excellent quality parts, so I think this was just a fluke with this particular potentiometer.
