Dynamic Mixes, Guaranteed

Slate Digital describes their FG-Bomber plug-in as a "Dynamic Impact Enhancer." At Sweetwater, we've found that it can add size, dimensionality, glue, and sheer impact to your mixes. Under the hood, FG-Bomber is based on analog modeling of hand-picked audio processors. Painstaking models of harmonics and saturation generators, filtration and dynamics control devices, and other select circuitry all contribute to the FG-Bomber's unique and wide-ranging capabilities. You may even find that it replaces a rack full of processing gear. Imagine your mix exploding out of the speakers with an energy that demands the listener's rapt attention. Slate Digital FG-Bomber makes that happen.

Slate Digital FG-Bomber Features:
  • "Dynamic Impact Enhancer" adds size, dimensionality, and impact to mixes

  • Use on individual instruments or the entire mix
  • Tightens the low end; adds snap to your transients

I've connected a hose from my wallet to Steven Slate's house. Everything that he and Fabrice create at Slate Digital is pure platinum. This plugin is no exception. It's a major go-to for soooo many tracks.

Great Plug-in, but not on everything

I'm a fan of Slate Digital products, and as most of them, this is a fantastic sounding plug-in. It can help add some extra thickness and gushiness to a source with the FAT setting, or add presence or tighten up transients with the PRESENT and TIGHT settings. You can use it on individual tracks as well as bus tracks, although the effects are particularly heard on transients. It can help give a little analog feeling or weight to a source, but usually it is best when used sparingly. Too much can easily sound muddy or fake sounding, but just a touch here and there, and it can definitely help a mix pump and come alive a little more. It won't suddenly fix a bad mix, and if it already sounds great, it usually isn't necessary. It is great tool to have around though, but it's not a plug-in I use on every track or mix.
