Sustain Foot Switch

For those electronic keyboards with an input jack labeled "SUSTAIN," the FC5 model is used in the same manner the sustain pedal on an acoustic piano is used. After pressing down a key, the note will continue to sound utilizing the technology of the FC5 until the sustain pedal is released. The FC5 can also be utilized as an FS controller in synthesizers, tone modules and drum machines.

Yamaha FC5 Features:
  • Compatible with Yamaha, Roland, and Kawai keyboards
  • Normally closed circuit
  • 5-foot cable.
  • 1/4" phone plug.

Quality despite the price.

Very happy with this actually. Mind you, I didn't buy it to use as a damper\sustain pedal but can see it doing a much better job at that than I would have imagined in looking at it online. Solid pedal with lots of weight. Looking at this I laughed at it as a sustain pedal because in pictures it just looks cheesy and lite. It's not and it's not. I bought it to strip. Needed the guts to do some experimenting with my array of ideas that may some day burn my house down ;)

Not what I would consider a good "switch", but I guess it depends on what you want to use it for in that regard. The former reviewer said he used it for a lesley switch for instance, and for that, yes, it would do fine with that, but not for most things. Low price and quality parts, great weight and the entire bottom has a rubber traction pad to reduce sliding. Let's just say that the same company should have done the same with their much more expensive pedals.

Good Enough

I do like the foot switches. They are rugged and durable. No problems with the wire or jack. I wish there was an easier way to keep them from sliding... For that they get 4 stars.
