SuperNATURAL Piano engine gives you stunningly realistic piano sound

The Roland F-140R Digital Piano is powered by Roland's cutting-edge SuperNATURAL piano sound engine. Highly respected here at Sweetwater, this cutting-edge technology brings optimal sonic authenticity and enhanced natural performance to digital pianos. Roland engineers painstakingly analyzed the complex characteristics of concert grand pianos, accurately capturing and reproducing the tonal variations based on the velocity of each keystroke. With enhanced velocity response, note decay, and key-range behavior, SuperNATURAL gives you exceptionally realistic and natural acoustic piano sound and playing feel.

Over 300 sounds, plus practice and performance features to inspire you

The Roland F-140R Digital Piano is loaded with 11 impeccable grand pianos, plus 305 other great sounds, including electric pianos, strings, organs, guitars, brass, synthesizers, and more. There are also onboard effects. Practice and performance features include Twin Piano, which effectively lets you split the keyboard into two parts, each with identical note range and its own sustain pedal (in this mode, the left and right pedals each have the damper function). Twin Piano is ideal for lessons and duets, but that's not the F-140R's only skill-building feature. The built-in metronome and SMF (standard MIDI file) recorder let you practice with a perfect time reference and also record and listen back to your performances - critical for polishing your chops. The F-140R also integrates with your tablet or smartphone via Bluetooth, letting you turn music pages from your device.

Great DP for the price !!

1) Key Action (4/5)The key action is actually heavier than I have expected, which is nice and feels great, but for piano beginners it might feel just a little bit heavy at the beginning. Specifically, the white keys are lighter than the black keys since white keys are longer. The black key is a little bit heavy when you press it near the base. However, a relatively heavy key helps developing finger strength and makes it easier to transfer to acoustic piano in the future. Overall I am very pleased with the feeling of the keys :)2) Assembling (5/5)Assembling is straightforward and the menu is easy and clear to follow. Once assembled, it feels solid. If you put it directly on carpet, it will wobble back and forth a little bit (less than 5mm) since only 2 wood boards at each side bears the load. So it might be a good idea to put it on solid floor, or put a hard wood or stone board under it.3) Sound (4.5/5)I mainly use headphone and the sound is great. The Headphones 3D Ambience effect works great on my semi-open Samson SR850. I also tested it on my closed-back AKG 550, but the sound is more close and impose a "center head effect", which doesn't feel as good as the semi-open back SR850. For speaker output, no sound distortion on highest level, although the bass region sound a little bit muffled. The treble is clear and crystal.4) Key Noise (4/5)I used to play acoustic piano in a concrete building, so I am not aware of the key action noise produced by the hammers in DP. In the first few day, I practiced Hanon a lot, even at night, which successfully annoyed my poor neighbor downstairs. Note that the current building I am living in has a wood structure with carpet floor. So you might want to do some structural noise isolation, if necessary.5) Miscellaneous (5/5)# Shopping experience and packaging: nothing but FANTASTIC :)# If you plan to move this thing, either in package or assembled, you will need some muscle. # Paddles are sturdy and the spring is strong.# The lid actually has springs underneath, which assist you when opening. # Escapement: you can feel it when pressing the key slowly, but never mind for me since I have never tried a grand piano, nor an advanced player.

Roland F-140R

love the keyboard!only one problem- there are two keys-both G in bass that sound very shrill when played-wish there was a video showing how to set the piano sound to what you like- don't like the instruction book.
Music background: very advanced- 12 years of piano- also play flute and violin
