The legendary Moog Theremin — with CV control!

The Moog Etherwave Plus is an authentic adaptation of inventor Leon Theremin's original design — with a twist! The theremin is one of the oldest electronic instruments, and the only one known that you play without touching. Moving your hands in the space around its antennas controls pitch and volume. The Etherwave Plus extends the gestural playing technique of the theremin to the world of analog synthesis and beyond. You can now control synthesizers and effects while playing the Theremin or use as a stand-alone CV (Control Voltage) controller. Add the Etherwave Plus to your Moog rig!

Moog Music Etherwave Plus Theremin at a Glance:
  • Design retains many qualities of the original instrument
  • CV outputs

Design retains many qualities of the original instrument
The Moog Etherwave retains many characteristics of the original theremins, including a five-octave pitch range and reliable spacing between notes for sophisticated playability. Antennas are nickel-plated 3/8" brass tube and cabinets are furniture-grade hardwood, finished in classic Moog stain. The Etherwave is fitted with an adapter for mounting on a standard microphone stand and is designed for use with a musical instrument amplifier such as the Moog TB-15. A special twist with the Etherwave Plus is the addition of a Control Voltage output — imagine being able to control your synth or moogerfooger pedals with out touching them!

CV output
The CV outputs control signals are proportional to the pitch and volume of the Theremin's audio signal. Connect to the pitch and volume CV inputs of a Little Phatty, Voyager or other analog synthesizer for a completely new way to play your synth. These CV signals are not limited to pitch and volume control. Route them to any CV destination and create a new world of expression. Control anything from the cutoff frequency of a Moog Ladder Filter or the LFO Amount on a Moogerfooger Ring Modulator to the stereo panning on a Minimoog Voyager.

Love it

The Etherwave Plus is a great theremin. I got it as a Christmas present for my wife. I've ended up using it more than she has. It is our first theremin, and it is exactly what I had expected. It is great fun to play and my pitch sensitivity has improved (and I'm a Trombone player!) as I practice. It is really fun to run it through some guiltier pedals and totally destroy the sound. I've not yet used the CV out, since I don't have any CV gear.

Spooky SCI-FI sound

This is the Bomb! it tracks nice and sounds like a 50's SCI-FI. Just tweak the knob to get a nice sine wave, add some faint reverb and you are off an going. Built well. Bet purchase of the year. EVeryone that comes to the Studio, has to play it and here it. Amazing instrument. Only Sweetwater would have this in Stock and Next day air it out! Thanks Sweetwater and Nick Church for you awsome sales and products. A++++++ Don't forget the cords, and an Amp. Sweetwater will give you the best deal in the world. Have fun and make ORsen Wells Sci-Fi.
