Seagull's quest for tone gives you a better playing and sounding guitar

Robert Godin, owner of Seagull Guitars, has never been satisfied with good enough. His tireless search for the better guitar has created quite a few innovations that go into every guitar model that Seagull makes. Every Entourage Rustic Mini Jumbo QI's top is pressure tested for rigidity and stiffness to ensure maximum harmonic vibration. The unique compound-curved top adds structural integrity to the guitar and allows for thinner bracing. Take it from the Sweetwater crew - the Seagull Entourage Rustic Mini Jumbo QI will give you years of great performance.

Innovative neck construction and mounting delivers killer playability and tone

The attention and care given to each Seagull shows in their looks, playability, and tone. Seagull has also taken extra care to ensure that the Entourage Rustic Mini Jumbo QI's neck helps create an amazing guitar experience. An acoustic guitar's neck is more than just a fretboard used for playing, it also creates the guitar's tone. Seagull's Integrated Set Neck gives your guitar the sound you want and the stability you need in a performing guitar. This system provides stable and consistent action that also reduces warping and twisting. Thanks to this integrated system, the Entourage Rustic Mini Jumbo QI's neck pitch is perfectly set. If it's too far forward the instrument will sound muddy, or if it's too far back the guitar will sound tinny. Seagull's design assures optimized sound and playability with these and other innovations found in the entire Seagull line.

Handcrafted in Canada for more than a quarter of a century

For over 25 years, Seagull guitars have been handcrafted in the small village of La Patrie in eastern Quebec. About half of the population works creating these exquisite guitars. All of the guitars in the Seagull line are made in Canada from the S6 Original models to the Maritime models to the top-of-the-line Artist series guitar. Most of the tonewoods are also harvested from Canadian forests. You'll love the attention to detail, the quality tonewoods, and Seagull's commitment to make the best guitar possible. Grab a Seagull Entourage Rustic Mini Jumbo QI and experience the difference.

Seagull Entourage is fantastic!

This Is the second Seagull mini jumbo in our family. The first one does not have a pickup. This newer one plays as beautifully as it is pretty. My middle son won't put it down. Thanks to Dave for the great help and price.

Seagull Entourage Mini-Jumbo QI

I'd love to give this guitar a 5. The craftsmanship is awesome and Gibson should be concerned...! ;) The sound is also very pleasing: very bright and crisp and the sound really projects much better then I thought it would. Not so thrilled about the color but I can get over that. I'm used to a more glossy finish so this is interesting. I'm wondering how it will age with time. My problem with the guitar is the electronics. I'm getting horrible feedback. I play a lot in 'close-quarters' but still require stage monitors. I tried a sound hole cover to no avail. I'm hoping that someday when I get to play bigger venues, the feedback problem will resolve itself. Again, I am really impressed with the attention to detail in the construction of the guitar. I'd love to try a higher-end Seagull...

Decent value

I have been looking at the Seagulls for about a year now and was pretty excited when Sweetwater started carrying them because the Guitar Gallery feature is a step above the service you will receive elsewhere. (much like everything else at Sweetwater!) I have to admit upon first playing it right out of the box, I was a good bit disappointed. The body of the guitar was thinner than I expected and overall it just felt like a student guitar in my hands. The sound is fairly balanced with very subtle mids, and strummed chords are surprisingly articulate. But overall the guitar just seems to have a very bright character overall. I bought a cedar top guitar because I thought they were supposed to be warmer and that is definitely not the case with this guitar. It sounds better fingerpicked than strummed but it still sounds pretty good strummed too. The main thing I don't like about it, is how quiet it is. Most jumbo shaped guitars (the only shape of acoustic I buy) that I have owned had tons of projection, including minis. I almost bought the model without electronics, and I'm sure glad I didn't because this guitar will need amplification anywhere but inside a home. Plugged in I got pretty much what I expected, I have never liked the sound of any acoustic electric plugged in. Once I turned the treble all the way down and the bass to about 75%, it actually sounded really good though, better than any I have ever owned anyway. Where this guitar really shines and the main reason I have decided to keep it is the playability. Absolutely the most comfortable acoustic guitar I have ever owned. I have never expected a piece of gear to actually make me play better in my life, this one has. The neck is awesome and makes me really eager to try out the full sized Seagull neck as opposed to the "Seagull slim". I have been playing guitar for around 25 years and have generally avoided acoustics when all possible but I have finally found one that makes me want to play.(who knew Bluegrass was so much fun?!?) The craftsmanship, which was a big reason I chose Seagull, is really good, though I did spot one small flaw. At the very top of the fingerboard, where it meats the soundhole, the fingerboard tapers downward and the cut of that taper is crooked at one end. Ha! If that is the biggest flaw in the guitar I can sure live with that! That's nothing compared to the amount of flaws I have found on most Chinese or Indonesian guitars brand new! The tuners do their job but are not at all smooth feeling while turning, they really feel flimsy as you are tuning the guitar and I feel like they are going to strip out or something, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. The nut and the bridge are both graphtech but the bridge pins are not and they feel like cheap old regular plastic. I see myself replacing the pins the next time I restring and the tuners down the line.(probably not till one fails) The factory string were surprisingly good. I usually take them off a few hours after unpacking but these stayed on until they were dead, which seemed to take forever. Overall it is not perfect but for the price, I don't know of any better value, especially not made in North America. Please keep in mind that a score of 3.5 is between "really good" and "great" so this should not be looked at as a negative review in the least even though everyone seems to give every product at least 4 stars nowadays no matter how awful it is. I would absolutely recommend this guitar to anyone who could not afford a U.S. made guitar, but wanted something better than cheap Chinese junk. In fact a good friend of my who I jam with has already made up him mind to get himself one after playing mine a few days.

Sweetwater Advice

Jacob Stutzman

I bought my Seagull Entourage Rustic Mini Jumbo a few years ago, and it's still my go-to guitar. I tend to write and play a wide variety of acoustic musical genres. I'm always happy with the tone I get from my Mini Jumbo (and Seagull guitars in general), no matter what style I play. Between its stable tuning, comfortable neck, and natural sound, I can hardly imagine enjoying an acoustic guitar more.
