Big on Value, with Big Tone Too!

The Godin Empire HG solidbody electric guitar sports a straightforward design with a surprisingly tenacious attitude. If we had to pick one word to describe this guitar, it'd be "punchy". Built in Richmond, Quebec, the Empire HG sports a maple center block with poplar wings, a bright and lively tonewood combination. For tonal versatility, you get a low-noise single-coil pickup at the neck with a custom humbucker at the bridge. From chimey to twangy straight through to growling, you get a lot of tone at a great price with the Godin Empire HG solidbody electric guitar.

Godin Empire HG Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • This guitar has a lot of bark and bite
  • Maple and poplar combine for bright, spanky tones
  • Ergocut shaping technique for amazingly smooth performance
This guitar has a lot of bark and bite

With a low-noise single-coil pickup at the neck, plus a custom humbucker at the bridge, you'll appreciate the wide range of tones on tap in the Godin Empire HG. It's great for crunchy classic rock, but you can really dig into the humbucker for some seriously aggressive sounds. But it seems that no matter how you dial in the Empire HG, the sound is punchy and vibrant.

Maple and poplar combine for bright, spanky tones

Made in Canada, the Empire HG employs a Big Leaf maple center block with poplar wings. Not only does this combination enhance the bright, articulate nature of the Empire HG's design, it's also lightweight enough for hours of comfortable playing.

Ergocut shaping technique for amazingly smooth performance

Run your hand along the Empire HG's neck, and you'll be amazed at how smooth and fast it feels. That's because Godin's Ergocut shaping technique bevels the fret edges towards the center of the fretboard. Whether you're playing complex chord changes, or blazing your way across multiple octaves, the Ergocut process enhances the playability of the Empire HG far beyond what you'd expect at this price.

Godin Empire HG Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Highly playable electric guitar with a bright, punchy voice
  • Big Leaf maple center with poplar wings is a recipe for clear, articulate tones
  • Mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard sport Godin's Ergocut design for smooth playability
  • Low-noise single-coil pickup at the neck for spanky classic rock and funk tones
  • Custom humbucker at the bridge for hot lead tones and complex middle-position sounds
  • Deluxe gig bag included
You won't be disappointed with the huge value in the Godin Empire HG!

High Quality Guitar

Nothing is cheap on this guitar except the price tag. What a great guitar. So easy to play. The smooth satin finish on the mahogany neck is awesome. Everything is solid on this guitar from the tuners to the wraparound bridge. The pickups are surprisingly good as well. Nice bite & punch from the humbucker in the bridge & a smooth transition to the warm response of the single coil in the neck position. I cant think of anything negative to say about this guitar. The only mod I was planning was to swap out the stock strap buttons with Schaller Strap Locks but to my surprise they come standard on the guitar. If you are looking for a guitar that is; easy to play, easy to set up, looks great, sounds great, feels great, that doesn't cost a fortune, then buy this guitar. You wont be disappointed.

Godin/rRichmond Empire - sweet six string

The Empire is a very good guitar in every way and better than you'd expect for the money. Mine is a first-year edition when the headstock had Richmond in large letters and "by Godin" in small print. Very comfy neck, the best of any guitar I have owned, including a bunch of Fenders and G&Ls, a Gretsch, a Hofner, a Takamine, a Epiphone. The contours are cozy, the guitar weighs 7 lbs and is well balanced. Easy to play. Lots of good tones as advertised. Deep and rich tone from each pup, good blues and jazz from the neck, hot or classic rock from the bridge, nice tight jangle from the mid position.- good for rhythm and solos. The growl and bite from each pup is sensitive to the volume level - turn down for less drive and up for overdrive. Cream color is classic. If this axe had tone and volume for each pup it would be hands down as better pick than a Les Paul with two HBs, and I would say it may be a better pick anyway, if you like a light guitar with simple controls and tonal variation, and don't want to spend a lot. I have had lots of compliments on this guitar, both for looks and performance.
