Elixir Strings 12000 Polyweb Electric Guitar Strings - .009-.042 Super Light Reviews
Elixir Strings with the Polyweb™ coating have the bright tone and punch of non-coated strings, yet they feel like traditional strings. The ultra-thin Polyweb™ coating keeps these strings sounding fresh and new for a lot longer than conventional strings. The Polyweb™ coating cuts down on finger squeak while reducing the bite of the strings on your fingers. They have a mellow and warm tone, and maintain their original sound and feel longer than most strings. If you want to get the most out of your guitar, grab a set of Elixir Electric Polyweb strings!

Simply the best.
I have extremely sweaty hands and have tried every coated string out there, and have learned I like the "slippery" feeling of the coated strings. If you like that feeling, the Polywebs are perfect for you. They have a rich, warm tone and compliment a bright guitar like a Telecaster very well. Super easy to bend and you can have these on for months at a time and they will still sound good as new. Elixir and Sweetwater both have great customer service which is another plus. get these strings. You will like em.
Better than ever
I've used the nanowebs but they've flaked and lost tone but put the polys on my Ibanez Rg and sounded amazing, but also it was way easier to play. I'm thankful for sweetwater and elixir.
Best strings on the market
I can't say enough good things about these strings, it's just a fact that they last longer that any other string available, and if you haven't used them before, I promise it's worth try, I really don't even care so much that they last a long time, for me the deal closer Is the feel of them, they're just as advertised, slick and fast, and they never lose that feeling throughout the life of the string, imo they literally make you a better player. Give them a shot, you won't be disappointed.
Polyweb 9-42
Never have I had strings last more than a week.. Frustrating as hell.. I was told about the polyweb strings and tried them.. 6 weeks later they are still as new.. I am very impressed! I will be using them from now on on all my guitars and I highly recommend them if you have a high acidity or live in humid conditions.. I have both! They are slightly warmer in tone but hey just notch up your tone knob a little and you wont know the difference..Cant recommend them enough..Thank you Elixir for finally filling the much needed product.
Best strings I've used so far
These are with no doubt the best strings I've put on my guitar . They last really long, and the tones seem unaffected even with a lot of use. I live in one of the most areas of the world, and the strings have responded tremendously well.
Pulling Strings
Best strings on the planet in all categories. Help my guitar sound, last, feel, act and respond magnificently.
The BEST Strings you can buy (IMO)
These (in my opinion)are the best strings and only strings I will buy, They have GREAT tone and they last better than any other string I ever used. I tried the Nano Web but it is so thin that it wears off way too quick for my taste. You'll get a string with the Polyweb (I use the 9-42's) that lasts and keeps it tone better than any string I have ever used and in all my years I have tried about everything but never found a string that could keep it's tone and feel as long and as well as The Elixir Polyweb (regardless of the gauge) if your looking for a string with INCREDIBLE Consistency that will hold up to Vigorous playing and not need to be replaced weekly than give these a try, I highly doubt that you'll be disapointed, more likely you will be delighted. Just ask for Luke, he'll explain the fine points. Thanks guys!
Elixir can’t be beaten
Alright I recently did a review on the acoustic Polywebs but I was a huge D'addario guy for my electric for years but the tone would just die the night I restrung my guitar. But let me be honest Elixir is like the infinite string where the tone never changes for a long time. My Grandpa had an acoustic and he strung them with elixir Polywebs and had them on for 9 years. So these are definitely worth a go. Within the elixir electric strings, the Polywebs sound so amazing and nicer and last longer than the D'addarios and I'm amazed. I will always use Polywebs on my guitars.
work great
A great set of strings. Warm and balanced like advertised. Bought them for the reduction of fret noise while playing and they do make a difference. I also use Elixir on my Taylor, and those are great too. Seem to last a good while so for the money I have mo complaints.
Great tone and long life
If you have a high pH in your hands like I do that kill your strings after a couple of days of playing these are the strings for you. Even if you do t have high pH string killer hands they are still for you. They have great tone, feel, and retain their bright tone for far more playing hours than other brands. I use them on most of my electrics. I would use them on all my electrics if they had eight string packs and custom gauges combos.
Not Great
Iv'e had two sets now both on the D string there seems to be threads showing in the wrap it doesnt't seem to affect anything but I've never had this with other strings
Feel great, but sound maybe not for a Strat
I was skeptical of coated strings. My buddy has these on his Les Paul, so I tried them out for a session. They feel great. I think they actually feel more comfortable on the wound strings, and I didn't notice much of a difference on the thin strings compared to the nickel strings I had on my own guitar. So I ordered a set for my Stratocaster. With the single-coils, I feel that these strings sound a little thin, almost tin-like. This is particularly noticeable with the low-E and the A string. It wasn't so bad that I am immediately ripping the strings off the guitar. So I'll let them run their course. But I won't be using these specific strings again.
