Excellent Guitar Strings!!

These are the best strings I've tried yet!! They lasted twice as long as any I've tried and the tuning stability is great!! To be honest, I could've left them on a little longer. Just noticed that they were starting to sound a little dull unplugged, but you couldn't tell it plugged up. And again, that was after twice as long as all the others I've tried. In my opinion, they outdid Ernie Ball Super Slinky or Paradigm, D'Addario XL's, and String Joy. That's not to criticize any of those brands, they are all great strings. But these Elixirs top them all when it comes to tuning stability and durability!

Also, I always put this plug in - If you haven't purchased anything from Sweetwater Sound, you need to make your next purchase from there. Whether you are buying instruments, gear or accessories, I have learned from experience that there is no such thing as a better buying experience than buying from Sweetwater!! "The Sweetwater Difference" is a very real thing, y'all!!

Worth The Extra

I've been using Elixir 942 strings for over 20 years now. My first experience, they came already installed on a new guitar. I've been using them since. They are well worth the extra few dollars because they last a very long time. I am very pleased and hope I get another 20 years of time playing guitars with Elixir 942 Nanoweb strings.

Only strings for me

I was first introduced to elixer strings with the polywebs and I instantly fell in love with them. I recently bought a guitar from Sweetwater that I had modified so I had them put 9-42 nanowebs on it. The difference I see between the nanowebs and polywebs is that the coating on the nanowebs seems tighter and more formed to the strings, the polywebs coating seems loose and flakes off easier. I had the polywebs on an epiphone tribute for 8 months and they were still as alive and vibrant as the day I put them on. I'm really loving these nanowebs and I'm sure they'll be part of my setup for a long time.

Finally broke

Well these strings finally broke on me and during a performance no less but they've been on there so long and sounded so good I just never got around to changing them! I can't even remember when I put them on but it's been way over a year and I play twice a week minimum. I'm going to have to put it on my calendar to change them whether they appear to need it or not and even if they still sound great, because any string will break sooner or later.

The best strings available

This is definitely one of those cases where you get what you pay for. These strings sound great, plenty of single note/chord definition, string squeak all but disappears AND they last my sweaty thrashing hands FOR-EVER! What great strings! In the past I used 9-42 on my '78 Strat and 10-46 on my mid 90's Gibson Les Paul and '61 SG re-issue. I now use the 9-42 gauge on all 3 guitars with no loss of oomph playing hard rock, metal/high gain on the Gibsons through a lot of effects and my Mercury Magnetics modded Marshall DSL50 into PRS 4X12 Harmonic Generator cabs loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s. I'm getting into my middle age and the silky smooth string bends feel great on my fingers, and all of the bite and Snarl remain. To save money I just buy 'em 30 packs at a time, I think there is an increasing price drop from Sweetwater if you buy more sets of these at the same time.
