RESOLVED: ETY "standard fit" is noticably smaller

Ryan just sent me a set of the correct size ear plugs.
Very fast response. Sweetwater really stands behind its products.
Excellent. Please delete my previous review.
    Thanks Ryan!

    Must have for drummers

Having been a competitive shooter for many years, I've tried hearing protection for shooting while playing - no good. The ETY plugs are different because they reduce frequencies across the spectrum, the effect being that everything sounds natural, but like the volume has been turned down. Muffs can be OK for practice (they filter out high overtones), but they are hot look silly when playing with other musicians. My only complaint: They're hard to clean.

    Way Better Than Foam!

I bought a set of the ETY's earlier this year after attending a rather loud concert. A friend lent me some expanding foam earplugs, which really helped, so I decided some better hearing protection was in order. I was impressed on how the ETY's attenuate the sound, letting it mostly sound the same, just quieter. I now use mine around the house, especially when mowing and riding my motorcycle. Great for drummers! They still let you hear what is going on, without muffling everything. I like them so much, I purchased a second set at Gearfest. Protect your hearing...get these!

    Great

They work great! I can leave the parties without my ears ringing now. I can also still have conversations with people.

I wish I had gotten these sooner

I have to say that these ear plugs are really, really good. I've been playing in bands for well over a decade now and, depending on the band and the situation, my ears would almost always be ringing after playing. Now, as I'm sure most off us musicians know that is not good because that is the sound of some of your hearing dying. I had use the standard earplugs but they always completely muffled and distorted the sound so I avoided using them more often then not. I'd seen ear plugs like this and had always meant to but a pair but it was just something that always slipped my mind. But I finally got them and that are almost all that I had hoped for. They do, for the most part, just bring every frequency in for an overall db drop. However, they do seem to cut out a little bit more of the highs and upper miss. So, they do distort the sound somewhat, but it is nowhere near though generic foam ear plugs. I would highly recommend a pair to anyone who plays regularly at high volumes.

Great Ear Plugs/Not so great case

These earplugs worked great, but the case doesn't snap closed very well, or can come undone pretty easily. And since I kept them on my key chain, I guess it opened up while I was working or something and I lost one. Though it was probably mostly my fault for not keeping track of them or not making sure it was securely closed, I would still suggest getting a different case that can handle a lot of movement, especially if you want to carry them wherever you go.

ETY "standard fit" is noticably smaller than foam plug

Standard foam plugs ( i.e. Walmart) fit and properly seal in my ears
but these "standard fit" ETY plugs are smaller and don't seal in
my ears at all, rendering them useless. When you hold the standard foam plug and the ETY plug side by side you see that the ETY is visibly smaller. ETY does not provide any way for you to determine your correct size that I've seen, so beware! Earplugs are not returnable so I'm out the purchase price.
