EZdrummer is what the name implies - EZ

Doing tracks alone in my home studio, drums have always been THE problem for me. I use a few different DAWs, depending on what stage of a project I'm at, and EZdrummer integrates well into any DAW that supports VST plugins. And with the latest version of Reason supporting VST technology . . . ah, but that's a different review altogether. Since adding EZdrummer 2 I find it so much easier to get a realistic, great sounding drum track. I'm just really getting started with EZdrummer 2 but I'm finding the features allow me to add professional sounding drums to my tracks with much less struggle than before. Preview some potential MIDI tracks, add a likely suspect into the Song Creator, and you have a quick library of intros, verses, choruses, fills, and more to drag and drop onto the timeline. Like one segment but find it a bit too busy for the rest of the instruments, you can "reduce" it with a few mouse clicks. Once you have the drum performance you want you can tweak the drum sounds in many ways, from picking an entirely different kit, to just swapping out a couple cymbals or a snare, to just tweaking a single drum so it's pitched to be in tune with the song key, it's all there. Articulation changes are a couple of mouse clicks away. And you can split off a single fraction of a measure if you want a rim shot on the snare on one particular hit in the chorus. Or you want that one hi hat tick to be on a ride instead. Once you have your drums tweaked as far as you can tweak them (and no, I haven't touched on all the possibilities) you can copy the EZdrummer 2 timeline contents to a MIDI track that still drives the same drum set, but now you can do the old MIDI time adjustments that we all love to do, sliding that snare hit just a tad earlier on only a few beats, where it counts. I'm sure I'll be adding libraries over time. Oh, and did I add that you can use MIDI tracks you already have? And the built in mixer allows you to adjust individual levels and panning. Built in effects. Automatable. There's more . . .

Hands Down the Best

I have been using Strike 2 for over six years, and other drum machines. I have to tell you, this is truly a drummer in a box. If you are not a drummer but have drums in your head, you can find a pattern that is very close to what you are hearing in your head and they have thousands, of different styles, then it allow you to easilly adjust the pattern to what you want with a twist of a button.Very easy to use and I am not a tech guy. I am a songwriter, producer and instrumentlist but drums are not my thing, at least not physically. If you are looking for a great drum program This is it, and I have aquire not only the EZ drummer 2, I have also acquired many of their mini pack for all kinds of styles, to include the EZKeys program. You want to sound like a real band, this is it. I recommend this to everyone.

I definitely recommend this for anyone who's working on their own home studio projects and wants REAL sounding drums without all the trouble. It's extremely intuitive without feeling "dumbed down." You just drag and drop drum patterns like you're playing with lego's and you don't really have to be a drummer (unlike a few simular programs) to understand how to make this thing rock. That kind of defeats the purpose of buying a drum program to begin with. You actually get to choose 3 libraries, because 1 comes with the basic EZdrummer 2 and then you get 2 extra with the bundle. I choose Progressive, Hip Hop, and Claustrophobic. Both Progressive and Claustrophobic were amazing, but Hip Hop is mostly kick and snare beats that would be fairly easy to tap out on a drum pad anyway, and there's barely and fills in that one. You do get a lot of amazing drum kit variations with each EZX Libraries. Buy this! It's awesome!

Great buy at an excellent price!

Amazing product that's simple to use and makes the song writing process 200% easier.

Very excited to add EZdrummer 2 to my bag of tricks. This is a bit of a welcome-to-the-21st-century gift to myself as I am finally retiring my Alesis SR-16 affectionately called The Workhorse. EZdrummer is incredibly intuitive and I was up-and-running in no time. Creating songs is straightforward. On-line help is fabulous. Choosing my 2 EZX libraries was a bit of a challenge since there are so many great ones. I don't have experience with other drum kit packages but we used EZdrummer in my last studio project and that was enough for me!
