Superior Shell Technology produces optimal tone, resonance, and strength
Drummers here at Sweetwater swear by Pearl's Superior Shell Technology (we even have a Pearl Endorser in our ranks), a proprietary technique for achieving the ultimate air chamber. First of all, select woods are chosen based on their unique acoustic properties, then milled to optimal thickness with overlapping scarf joint seams, providing you with a perfect, air-tight fit. After that, the wood plies are saturated with Pearl's special AcoustiGlue, which permeates every pore and dries to the exact consistency of the wood, giving you phenomenal resonance. Lastly, the plies are formed in high-temperature molds with 1000 PSI of hydraulic pressure, creating drum shells with remarkable tone, vibrancy, and strength.
