D'Addario Guitar Strings!

An ultra-fine layer of EXP Coating is bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto a NY High Carbon Steel core hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. Sweetwater knows that choosing the perfect string is vital to a musician's sound. EXP coated phosphor bronze strings have a natural feel and sound warm and bright with a "new string tone" that lasts three to four times longer than traditional guitar strings.

D'Addario - Making strings for over 300 years

Behind every set of D'Addario strings are over three centuries of fine craftsmanship. The D'Addario family tradition began in the tiny town of Salle, Italy in 1680 where they made assorted instrument strings for over two hundred years before relocating to New York in 1905. As the modern string making industry began to develop, the D'Addario family emerged as innovators by designing the winding machine most string makers still use today. And while their techniques have modernized, the pride that goes into each set of strings dates back to the D'Addario family's earliest roots.

Best Sound - Best Value

These were on my Takamine Pro Series guitar as standard equipment. Nothing else I've tried sounds as good. You'd never know that they were coated and they last as long as any of the competition. When I restrung with these, my Tak sounded as good as my '76 Guild F-412. Bought them from Sweetwater through Ebay. Got 'em quick, free shipping, and they always follow-up with a phone call.
Music background: Gigging musician

These are my preferred brand and always have been

There are other good strings, but these are the best for the price in my opinion.
Music background: Recording, touring musician, song writer, composer.

Thin is not in

Play nicely, but much thinner sounding than my previous set of uncoated lights that were on my Seagull 12.
Music background: Semi-pro musician, home studio operator
