EXP-100F
Hey, it's a Hammond so naturally a great pedal, the best. Not even close to other pedals I've tried. If you have a XK-3c or XK-5, you need this pedal.
This is a Great Volume Pedal
This Volume pedal really works well with my Hammond XK2, the side switch will not function on the XK2 but works on the XK3 which for me is no big deal since I am using a 145 Leslie with a Pre-Amp Pedal.to control Leslie Speed. This Volume Pedal is really built well, like a tank, Not a peice of flimsy plastic, should last for years, really impressed...
The Perfect Pedal!!!
OK...maybe not "blown away" exactly, but this pedal is what all clonewheel controllers should be, imo. Many of the later-model original Hammond consoles and spinets had a similar kick switch mounted on the sides of expression pedals...some controlling C/V operation and others dedicated to Leslie switching...and to most of us who grew up playing these, this is right where it should be. It allows us to use one foot to control both rotary fx function and volume, leaving the other free for kickin' the sticks (playing pedal claviers), operating damper pedals for other instruments or switching outboard fx boxes. I wouldn't have it any other way, and quite frankly am perplexed as to why there aren't more expression/volume pedal manufacturers offering this option, as well as an option with programmable switches on both sides of the pedal. As alluded to in the previous sentence, the function of this switch is programmable, so you can do other things with it besides switch rotary effect fast/chorale speeds, such as turning on percussion or advancing presets. Very cool! Dear Santa, I've been very good this year...could you find 3 of these for me in your magic bag? (one for each foot and a spare!)
GOOD PEDAL
This is a very good pedal for any of the Hammond organs works just like the originals.
Hammond EXP-100F Expression Pedal
The pedal stays where you place it. Well made item !!!
Works great with my XK-3c, but usual problem with anything Hammond clone: lousy owner's manual
I recently purchased a used Hammond XK-3C (dual manual). It came with a Yamaha expression peddle - that fairly promptly failed and never worked very well anyway. As a replacement, I went ahead and purchased the official Hammond expression peddle. It has a better feel for volume adjustment and the kick tab on the left is default programmed as a Leslie switch (speed up or slow down the rotation of the Leslie). However, it was billed as having a "programmable" kick switch. The manual contains zero explanation on how to program the kick tab to perform other functions. This is a real problem with Hammond clone products. The manuals are nearly useless for anything beyond how to plug everything in and get the instrument to operate. I so far have found zero resources available, even on u-tube, for how to perform advanced programming on the XK-3C. Drawbar tutorials seems to be the limit of what is available.
Nice Pedal
My only beef with this pedal is that it has too much latency. It is difficult to get those swell stabs like in the song "Fly Like An Eagle". Probably due to the use of an optical sensor rather than a rotary pot that would work in real time. Other than that, it's a great pedal.
Hammond EXP-100F PEDAL
The volume pedal works well and is much like an authentic Hammond pedal but the side Leslie switch is quite awkward. A stomp switch would have been much better mounted at the low volume area so you could operate the switch with the other foot and still have the right foot on the volume pedal. I plan to have my pedal rewired to a stomp switch on the Leslie. Great idea to locate the volume and Leslie switch at the same location
