Distinct semi-hollowbody tone

If you've ever listened to any rock or blues from the '60s, you've heard the classic tone you'll find in the Epiphone Sheraton-II PRO. The phrase "bell-like" is most appropriate here, with notes that spring to life and then gently decay into a long sustain - perfect for leads and solos. While the tone can get bright and aggressive if you need it to, it's the warm and smooth overdriven tones that made its predecessor, the ES-335, such a popular guitar for blues and jazz styles. You'll get the same vintage vibe from the Epiphone Sheraton-II PRO.

Epiphone ProBuckers deliver fat jazz tones and more

Epiphone's Sheraton-II PRO is packing Epiphone ProBucker pickups, a 4-wire design with coil-tapping inspired by Gibson's legendary BurstBuckers. ProBuckers conjure the sound of the original hand-wound PAF humbuckers designed by Seth Lover at Gibson's Kalamazoo factory in the late 1950s. ProBuckers have all the same components under the hood as the original PAF and BurstBuckers, including Alnico II magnets, Elektrisola magnet wire, 18 percent nickel silver unit bases and covers, as well as pole screws, slugs, and bobbins built to original Gibson spec. You get a huge sounding pickup that is responsive to your pick attack, and that - over time - will develop the subtle, unique characteristics that you can only get from vintage humbuckers.

Beautiful Guitar

With Brad Thomsen's help I bought this guitar on Friday and was playing it on Saturday night. It doesn't get any better than that. The guitar is absolutely gorgeous. The one exception being the Epiphone symbol on the pick guard. However, VERY careful use of a razor blade will pop it off, and a paper towel soaked with a little Windex will get rid of the adhesive residue. And now it looks even better than it did when it came out of the box. This is a guitar that I bought to replace a guitar of my youth. A 1960 Gibson 335-TDC. It and me departing ways is a very sad story. This guitar plays every bit as good as the 335 I fondly remember. When playing in single-coil mode through an overdrive pedal you can put out some serious sound. This guitar plays, sounds, looks spectacular. The one flaw, and I knew about it in advance, so it doesn't detract from my rating, is the placement of the cable jack. It's right where is is supposed to be, which is right were is was on my 335. It plays best with a right-angle cable, which is problematic if you are playing a gig with more than one guitar. E.g. the right angle jack won't work if I switch to my Strat. Minor problem. Carry two cables.10-second switch and you're ready to go. I am more than satisfied. I am ecstatic.

Sheraton Pro II

Epiphone continues to build some of the best instruments regardless of price. This one is classy, sounds great and had been reviewed before shipping. The Coil Tap gives a great casino-like sound. Great confidence shopping with Sweetwater.

Buy with confidence

I waited a few days after receiving my Sheraton early this week to write my review. This guitar is all I expected and more. I could not be happier. That covers the guitar. Now on to Sweetwater. I have bought from Sweetwater in the past, so it didn't surprise me when my cell phone rang literally seconds after I finished the transaction. My sales rep Josh Livley was right on it. He made sure that I was getting the exact guitar I wanted, along with any setup concerns I may have had. On the subject of what guitar I wanted, Sweetwater has a great feature that allows one to pick from their online inventory through pictures and discussions with the sales engineers. In closing I'd just like to say to anyone on the fence about an online guitar or gear purchase ,Sweetwater has a great company culture designed to maximize customer satisfaction which in turn maximizes the fun of playing music. Pick your instrument and buy with confidence. You won't regret it.

Amazing Value

This guitar is stunning! The deep wine red color combined with the gold hardware and inlay work make this guitar look like it should be worth much, much more. Of course, looks alone don't make a guitar great. So, how about playability? Excellent. The action is set about medium. One can lower or raise it as they choose. Manufactrurers cannot make the action on every guitar perfect to everyone's liking. We all have our own preferences. The intonation was spot on! So, how about the sound? These pickups are great! From clean to dirty, they will do it all. I don't have the budget that will allow me to spend $4000 or more for an ES-335. For those of you out there who can relate, this guitar is as close as you can get without breaking the bank. Be sure to get the Epiphany case. You are going to want to protect this beauty. This guitar along with Sweetwater's excellent service will have you smiling for a long time!

Beautiful Guitar

Even though I'm more of a Fender player, I always wanted to add a Gibson 335 to my arsenal, though I never could convince myself (or my wife) to spend the money nessesary for a nice Gibson.I started to investigate Epiphone guitars. I read and re-read reviews, and watched videos and decided on the Sheraton II Pro.This is one beautiful guitar! The Wine Red is stunning! The finish and detail is perfect! The Pro-bucker pickups sound great! The overall playability of this guitar seems very nice to me.It's a plus dealing with Sweetwater. I was able to choose the from 4 different guitars and select the one that looked best to me. My Sheraton came setup very nice thanks to the 55 point inspection. I will probably tweek the action and install a set of strings, but for now, it's very good.Overall this Epiphone is a Great Buy and an Excellent Guitar!
