    White Swingster Royale

This is a really nice piece and I love the finish...it's flawless. I have four other guitars: A Gretsch G6119 Tennessee Rose, Fender Deluxe Players Strat, Gibson Les Paul Swirl and a Hagstrom Viking 12 string. I love all of them (even though I had to have the Gibson professionally set up by a luthier). I really couldn't pick a favorite and I play them pretty much equally. Considering it's price point this Epi provides a great bang for the buck! I lowered the top side of the bridge a bit so the string clearance is the same on both sides of the fret board and it plays and sounds as good as any of the others. That's saying a lot since the price is about half that of the Gibson and just over a third that of the Gretsch. If I were a pro I'd be proud to play this Epi anywhere!

I was expecting to receive a classy jazz guitar with this rig and I have not been disappointed. Great sound - the push/pull pots bring whole new dimensions to sound, which I am still experimenting with. I use this rig in a small jazz combo (guitar/sax/girl singer) and it really pulls its weight. The setup by the sweetwater folks is pristine - while I usually use Premier 11s, the flatwounds that sweetwater put on have plenty of tone - no buzz - and great action all the way to the top. The guitar looks great, plays great and sounds great . . . even the vintage Bigsby vibrato is fun. This guitar feels good in my hands, very comfortable to play. I'll bet you can't go wrong with any of the Swingsters, esp if they are set up right. I was a bit hesitant buying a guitar on line but this has proven that to be groundless. This sounds excellent when played through a small Marshall (30w) and Vox Valvetronic (50w).

Tryi it - you;ll like it.

    Best Guitar in the store

I went into my local guitar store to see if they had anything new and picked up the swingster that was on display. I didnt have any great expectations as many epiphones look great and play like doo doo but this box was a pleasant surprise. It has a nice acoustic sound, smooth action and a great bigsby. The roller bridge is stellar. I think I will put them on my other guitars. The push pull pots really do make a difference unlike other guitars I have tried. It's like having a turbo boost built in. I am going to grab one of these when I get home from my desert road trip.

    EMPEROR SWINGSTER (WHITE ROYALE)

REC'D MINE IN AUGUST LAST YEAR ( IN WHITE) FROM ANOTHER VENDOR. IT HAD A BAD #2 FRET AND IN AN EFFORT TO MODIFY IT AS IT WAS BUZZING BADLY, I VOIDED THE WARRANTY. ALSO, SINCE IT WAS SHIPPED WITH THE PICKGUARD NOT INSTALLED, THE VENDOR WOULD NOT TAKE IT BACK FOR EXCHANGE AS THE INSTALLATION BY ME OF THE PICKGUARD REPRESENTED AN UNACCEPTABLE MODIFICATION. (AN UNJUST LOOPHOLE IN MY VIEW). SOME LOCAL LUTHIERS DID THE NEEDED WORK AT A REASONABLE COST AND NOW IT PLAYS LIKE I AM USED TO.

THE VISUAL ASPECTS ARE SPECTACULAR AND I HAVE RECEIVED MANY POSITIVE COMMENTS FROM MY PEERS ON THIS. I WOULD COMPARE IT TO THE GRETSCH WHITE FALCON (AT 1/4 THE COST) WHICH INCLUDES THE GOLD METALFLAKE BINDING ON THE HEADSTOCK, NECK AND BODY. I HAVE 7 DIFFERENT ELECTRICS AND THIS HAS BECOME MY STAR BOARDER.

THE ONE FLAW I HAVE FOUND IS THAT HEAVY FINGER PICKING RESULTS IN THE E-1ST STRING JUMPING OUT OF THE ROLLER SADDLE AT THE BRIDGE. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THE CONSUMER WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH WHICH WILL PROBABLY NECESSITATE A CHANGE IN PLAYING TECHNIQUE. I WILL PROBABLY END UP CHANGING OUT THE BRIDGE AT SOME POINT. IN THE MEANTIME, I CONSIDER THIS INSTRUMENT A WORTHY INVESTMENT
