Four Years Later, a Second Review
So I've had the Casino now for four years and have performed some key mods: I switched out the pots for a wider range tone on the neck pickup, and then dropped a Lollar gold foil for dogear route. I also needed to tweak the switch to eliminate some fuzzy mischief in the middle and bridge positions.
All of this to say I made the guitar mine. Keep in mind that these are fairly routine adjustments that any guitar could probably use (excepting the $200 pickup mod!). This has become my go to, every day, every gig guitar. Special loves: pushing an amp just slightly past breakup; also comping with rolled back tone. Single note lines can range from sparkle to grunge.
I should say that stock pickups in this are more than fine, but the gold foil makes this thing sound like a $5000 axe--except I'm not afraid of taking it out of the case. For the price point, this is just a great guitar.
