Semi-hollowbody Tone, Smaller Body

The Gibson Memphis ES-339 semi-hollowbody electric guitar gives you the legendary sound, playability, and versatility of Gibson's larger ES Series guitars and delivers it all in a smaller body size that's ideal for guitarists more comfortable with solidbody instruments. The lightly arched maple top adorns a thinline maple body with a solid maple center block that reduces feedback and enhances sustain. Fitted with a pair of Burstbucker humbuckers and a fast mahogany neck topped with a rosewood fingerboard, the ES-339 lends itself to just about any musical style you're into. Sweetwater guitarists love the Gibson Memphis ES-339. You will, too!

Burstbucker pickups deliver that timeless PAF humbucker tone

When nothing but vintage-flavored tone will do, then it's time to check out this Gibson Memphis ES-339 semi-hollowbody guitar. Loaded with a set of Burstbucker humbucking pickups, this ES-339 gives you the tight low end, complex midrange, and sweet highs you long for - in short, everything you expect when you pick up a '339! That's because Gibson designed their Burstbucker pickups to re-create the sound of the original PAF humbuckers to perfection. So if you want the time-tested tone of a classic, the Gibson Memphis ES-339 is for you.

Hollowbody richness meets solidbody sustain

Gibson Memphis designed the ES-339 to have the same tonal appeal as its big sibling, the ES-335, but with a smaller body style. If you grew up on solidbody guitars but crave the warmth and tonal complexity of a hollowbody, the ES-339 is for you. You'll love the harmonic richness that resonates from the ES-339's semi-hollowbody, and you'll also really appreciate the feedback resistance and enhanced sustain provided by its solid maple center block. Gibson Memphis redesigned the neck dimensions and used low-profile frets for a more comfortable feel. Guitarists of all calibers can appreciate the sound of the ES-339, but if you perform nightly, you'll find it to be a dream come true.

Gibson Custom's commitment to quality

As they do with every Custom Shop guitar, Gibson's world-class luthiers took painstaking care with every detail of the ES-339. Every Gibson Memphis guitar receives an ultra-precise Plek Pro setup, which optimizes the fingerboard and nut for perfect action and intonation. And fine touches like CTS pots, ceramic capacitors, nickel hardware, and a scrumptious nitrocellulose lacquer finish not only add to the amazing tone and vibe of this incredible guitar, they remain true to the ES Series as well as Gibson's rich history.

Excellent Instrument

After 6 months I'm ready to say that this truly is an excellent guitar. Very nice neck, thinner than any of my Les Pauls. The pickups are very crisp and nice . I use this guitar for all duo, trio and low key gigs. I was a bit concerned with feedback issues, but I have played it on a large high volume reggae show with no issues. Clean tones are fantastic as are overdrive tones. Doesn't excel at higher gain sounds (in my opinion). Super light compared to a Les Paul. The only negative comment is that the horn really cramps the higher frets. Bending to the the high E can be challenging to say the least :).Not cheap, but well worth the price
