Kawai EP3 88-key Digital Piano with Speakers Reviews

4.5 stars based on 3 customer reviews

Great piano with nice sounds and action

The EP3 has excellent piano sounds especially when adding in the reverb and brilliance effects. My Casio AP-620 doesn't have this degree of resonance and sustain pedal decay. The action is just a little lighter than either my Casio / Roland V-Piano (as I now own three digitals) although it feels very smooth and responsive. Neither the Casio / Kawai can compare with the V-Piano (as it is in another class by itself) however, the Kawai does sound very good in its price range. It is also more portable than my other two pianos which is a definite plus. I am satisfied with the purchase, overall.

    best piano ever

This piano is everything advertised and more. As a pro musician for many years, classically trained (but play in every style)..... the sound, touch and delivery of this digital keyboard has been a dream come true. I just used it for the first time in an offsite gig in a large room (away from my home studio), and was thrilled at the feedback on the sound in that space with no extra amplification.
"We've come a long way, baby" in the perfecting of digital sound and touch/action in these keyboards. Thank you, Kawai..... thank you, Sweetwater (and use Chris Geissler as your guide.... a wonderful and accommodating staffer!)

I am a sax guy who fills in on keyboards in a steel drum band. I bought this keyboard to take on the steel drum band gigs. That band does reggae, calypso and bossa style music, and the keyboard's different voices fit well: I use the organ for reggae, marimba sound for calypso...etc. The weighted keys really feel like a piano, and the action can be adjusted . I haven't used all of the features, but the various functions flow naturally from visible buttons above the keyboard. I have run the keyboard through a Peavy keyboard amp for gigs and it sounds nice. The keyboard does weigh quite a bit...a case with wheels is a necessity not a luxury. I got a good deal through Sweetwater and have absolutely no complaints after having used it at two gigs so far. High quality and a good value for the price.
