Quality construction

The Epiphone Les Paul Ultra is no slouch in the construction department. All materials are top-notch, including the chambered mahogany body, mahogany neck, beautiful AAA flame maple top, and rosewood fingerboard. This is no bolt-on-neck wannabe - it's got a set neck, just like the LPs you've been drooling over!

Vintage appeal

From classic appointments such as trapezoid inlays and vintage-style binding to classy chrome hardware and pickup covers, the Ultra-III has it all. And the addition of ProBucker-2 and ProBucker-3 pickups, individual volume and tone knobs, and a 3-way selector means you'll generate some timeless tone from this axe!

Modern flexibility

The Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-III features not one, but two pickup systems. The first system features a traditional humbucker setup featuring the ProBucker-2 and ProBucker-3 pickups, and the second system utilizes the Shadow NanoMAG pickup. The NanoMAG is discreetly mounted at the end of the fretboard and houses samarium cobalt magnets and active electronics that let it pick up the body resonance and string harmonics to produce acoustic guitar tones. There is a dedicated volume knob for the NanoMAG that also is a push on/off switch. You can blend the acoustic and electric sounds together to create new sonic landscapes or have them remain separate and distinct. The Les Paul Ultra-III also features a built-in USB jack that allows you to plug directly in to your computer. A free copy of the popular Guitar Rig software accompanies each guitar. Quickly and easily dial in your perfect guitar tone, and then record with your favorite DAW. Another surprise in the Ultra-III is a built-in chromatic tuner mounted in the pickup ring. Turn it on and tune your guitar anytime.

Nice Guitar

Wanted to learn to play guitar years ago but with job and family had to put that thought on hold, well it's time and I wanted a guitar with good looks and sound. well I ran across this one and after reading the reviews and hearing the sound I bought it, I'm a widower getting close to retiring now and wanted something a little lighter to make it easier to handle. Thank you Sweetwater, you Guys are Great.

Les Paul ultra III

It's awesome all the features you get on this guitar.... and sounds great also. I would recommend this to beginners and solid players.

Love this Les Paul

I got my Ultra 3 in two days ago and I was very scarred of the horror stories I read online about the low E string buzz when using the acoustic pickup. Well, when I got it, it did have this dreaded buzz. BUT, I looked up the original factory spec for string height, intonation and pickup height and adjusted everything to those specs. With doing that the buzz disappeared. there is another BUT though. The GAIN for the acoustic pickup on the back of the guitar will effect the low E string buzz. You need to adjust that gain to about half way. this will make the acoustic buzz disappear. Now, it is perfect. I absolutely love this guitar and the capabilities it gives. I play live nearly every weekend and alot of the songs we do should have an acoustic guitar in the background. Now I can do that. The fit and finish on this guitar is beautiful. Love the feel of the matte finish on the back of the neck. I use the USB port on my Mac/Garage Band and it works perfectly. Set this guitar up right, and you will love it.

nice guitar!

i like this guitar. It is well made and pretty. There are no flaws, a well finished guitar which matched the picture od the one I ordered. Some could call the nano pick up "tinny" or "chimmy" but it works well adding so many possible sound choices. The humbuckers are nice alone but combing the two is great for many things. If you use two amps you can play clean out of both or mix distortion and chimmy which gives a clarity to the sound. Played out of one amp and you still get some great sound choices. I run the two outputs into two channels to record. Very versitle can't comment on the usb use as I still haven't be able to spend the time with tech support to get it to work but will soon as it would be iciing on the cake

Great guitar

After playing a Gibson Les Paul for $4,000.00, then playing the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra III I could not feel any differances in the feel and action of the neck, plus the epipy has a accoustic pick-up and a built in tuner.this is a great work horse of a guitar. I love it. But make sure you unplug it or the 9v battery won't be turned off.
