Great looks, great value

You'll do a double-take when you lay eyes on this guitar and check out its unbelievable price. The Les Paul Ultra-III looks just like a vintage LP, with classic features that give it the appearance of a guitar that would easily cost ten times as much.

Quality construction

The Epiphone Les Paul Ultra is no slouch in the construction department. All materials are top-notch, including the chambered mahogany body, mahogany neck, beautiful AAA flame maple top, and rosewood fingerboard. This is no bolt-on-neck wannabe - it's got a set neck, just like the LPs you've been drooling over.

Vintage appeal

From classic appointments such as trapezoid inlays and vintage-style binding to classy chrome hardware and pickup covers, the Ultra-III has it all. And the addition of ProBucker-2 and ProBucker-3 pickups, individual volume and tone knobs, and a 3-way selector means you'll generate some timeless tone from this axe.

Modern flexibility

The Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-III features not one, but two pickup systems. The first system has a traditional humbucker setup using ProBucker-2 and ProBucker-3 pickups, and the second system utilizes the Shadow NanoMAG pickup. The NanoMAG is discreetly mounted at the end of the fretboard, and it houses samarium cobalt magnets and active electronics that let it pick up the body resonance and string harmonics to produce acoustic guitar tones. There is a dedicated volume knob for the NanoMAG that also is a push-push on/off switch. You can blend the acoustic and electric sounds together to create new sonic landscapes or have them remain separate and distinct. The Les Paul Ultra-III also features a built-in USB jack that allows you to plug directly in to your computer. A free copy of the popular Guitar Rig software accompanies each guitar. You can quickly and easily dial in your perfect guitar tone and then record it with your favorite DAW. Another surprise in the Ultra-III is a built-in chromatic tuner mounted in the pickup ring. Turn it on and tune your guitar anytime.

Love Epiphones

The fact that Epi's aren't made in the states is a joke to me. I own just about every make guitar out there including some PRSs. The last Gibson I bought was a Futura that had the worst fret job on it of any guitar I've ever bought. Have read other reviews about the sharp fret ends of other models of Gibson's . You can't go wrong buying an Epi. They play great, sound great and are built with quality. I'm done with Gibson but am looking at an Epi Prophecy LP next. American made pickups make them a gift . It doesn't have to be made in the USA to be built with quality. I here a Strat violin is pretty good and they're not made here.
