A universe of tone from tapped Pro-Buckers

The Pro-Buckers on the Les Paul Standard Plustop PRO feature Alnico II magnets - the same as sought-after vintage PAF humbuckers - for rich, warm tone with a crystalline highs and and tight bottom. With a Pro-Bucker-2 in the neck position and a (slightly overwound) Pro-Bucker-3 in the bridge position, crank your gain and you can do some serious damage. We're talking legendary Les Paul fat, snarling tone - served up with days of sustain. Excited? There's more. You also get coil-tapping, controlled by push/pull volume pots, giving you an infinite variety of sounds - from single-coil spank to full humbucker shred. This Les Paul is a tone machine.

The Les Paul backstory

The Les Paul backstory actually started with an instrument dubbed The Log. In the early 1940s, in a quest for an electric guitar that would sustain for days, Les Paul - the legendary guitarist and inventor - fashioned what may well have been the first solidbody guitar from a length of common 4" x 4" lumber. For appearances (and possibly playing comfort), Les sawed an Epiphone hollowbody in half and attached the two wings to either side of The Log. Les continued to develop the idea through a series of prototypes, ultimately resulting in the classic solidbody guitar we know and love.

With a Les Paul, you're in good company

From rock to fusion (and beyond), the Les Paul's surly snarl has virtually defined attitude-laden overdrive guitar sound. Legendary guitarists such as Jimmy Page, Al Di Meola, Alex Lifeson, Slash, and countless others, have forged their signature sounds with a "sunburst" Les Paul. Epiphone now gives you the opportunity to experience that one-of-a-kind tone and look at an amazingly affordable price with the Les Paul Standard Plustop PRO. What's more, the Plustop PRO comes with Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and is backed by Gibson's 24/7/365 Customer Service - so you know you're making a solid investment.

It's a Les Paul, albeit an Epiphone. What else can you say? Great tone, sustain and a good setup from Sweetwater, which I can say cuz I bought another guitar from a competitor and it was not setup well. The recommended Epiphone case is also very nice. Guitar fits in very snug.

My Les Paul

This guitar is awesome , it's a beautiful peice of work !! And the sound is sweet !!

A week after buying this guitar in Ebony, I knew I wanted the Heritage Cherry Sun Burst too. It arrived this morning and right out of the box, it played wonderfully well. The ProBuckers are amazing sounding pups. The sustain on this guitar is insane. The fit and finish are top notch. Mine weighs in at 8 pounds 6 ounces and arrived in prefect condition. Sweetwater service and delivery is always amazing. Thank you to my sales engineer, Derek Senestraro for taking such good care of me. I love this guitar and can't wait to break her in. Summary: Great guitar, great sound, great construction, great service from SW, and all this at a fair price. I'm a happy Blues player :)
Music background: Mediocre Blues player.having a blast

My Guitar

This my first guitar. Actually my second however the first cam through from another company and needed to be sent back for replacement. It too was an Epiphone and apparently their warranty with these people means something so that in itself is sensational! So as my first guitar the Epiphone Les Paul is just a stunning guitar. I guess I have to start there because I am very new to playing guitar and it matters to me that it's pretty, it is. Colors, the finish, the attention to detail, the sound all are great. I know what people are saying about the Chinese made guitars however this guitar came in with an almost perfect setup- right off the shelf. I of course took it in to be looked at and the tech was very impressed which means that I was also. The sound is awesome and even through I am brand new to playing I used to have to give piano concerts as a child. Both parents were "in music". My Father taught at Syracuse University and other schools all his life. He was a music professor and my Mother was one of his students. So for me to say I have been around music all my life is no exaggeration. I also worked in security for more than 25 years doing concerts all over the country so again to say I have not heard/tasted tone of sounds and great playing would also not be an exaggeration.Anyway the finish is great, the sound is great, it's easy to play and I am looking forward to developing my skills on this guitar. I did a lot of reading and watched a lot of videos and that plus the great informartion that came from Sweetwater helped me make my decision. It sure didn't hurt that they made it easy to purchase with 2 payments. So to end this my experience with this guitar and with Sweetwater has been great!
Music background: Played Piano form a young child and sang in the Choir at church and the chorus in High School at a State level. Both parent in Music with my father being a professor of music for more than 60 years.

Great Guitar
