One of the best Guitars I own

I am fortunate enough to live a little over an hour away from Sweetwarter so I get to try out a Guitar before purchasing one, I own 7 and 4 were purchased from Sweetwater. That being said... I had 4 on my list that I wanted to tryout, this one was not on my list to try out, the others just weren't right for me due to the fact I am super picky about any Guitar I want to purchase (Thank you Chris for being so patient) being somewhat frustrated Chris pointed this one out so I tried it out and immediately fell in love with this Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom EX Plus, fit me like a glove, action is as smooth as silk, sounded awesome! They had the same two amps on the floor as I have at home so I was able to set them up like I have mine set up at home. This one is just as good if not better than my high end Guitars costing way more than twice as much! It is really a joy to play and the sound is incredible... Oh and the finish... beautiful! the photos just don't do it justice. Final note: I've had this for all but two months now and could not be happier, this was setup perfect right out of the box, and it holds it's tune very well. This one does get played every day. (I think my other Guitars are getting jealous LOL.. they all get played too)Definitely would purchase again and recommend to a friend!Thank You Sweetwater, especially you Chris for your kind outstanding service helping me with all that I have purchased thus far, you know I'll be back to see you again soon.

Drummer learning guitar!?!?!

For over 30 years I've been drumming and at different times I've been in the back drumming watching the guitar guys ripping it up. Secretly I have always liked and wanted to learn guitar and the look and sound of the LP's have always been the cream of the crop in my opinion. So finally I made the decision to learn the guitar and started my research on my first guitar purchase. I know I wanted a LP but could not see paying $$$$ for my first guitar and I wasn't going to buy some beginner junk guitar so after extensive research I decided on this Epiphone. I read the reviews all over the Internet and placed my order, Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom EX Midnight Ebony PLEK'D. I was expecting a nice guitar but once it arrived I was truly amazed at the quality and feel. So far after a few weeks of practicing, at least an hour almost nightly, I can say without a doubt that the more I play and learn with this LP the happier I am! Sound, feel, looks and value are all 6 stars! Thanks Epiphone for a great guitar and thanks Mark and Sweetwater for a great deal!

Probably most beautiful and best bang for your buck guitar there is!

Buy this guitar you will love it! It looks amazing hanging from my wall and plays every bit as good as it looks. It has a real metal feel and look to it. Crank up your amp and let this thing scream and squeel with a ton of distortion. Or select a clean setting, roll the tone and volume back a bit and listen to that amazing, bright and clean sound from those emg pickups. The sustain is unbelievable too!I rated it a 5 because you really can not beat it for the price. If it had a Gibson logo on it I would believe it.I had a few major issues though. I had to send this guitar back a few times because of manufacturer defects. Poor quality control. Finish issues on the hardware, finish issues in the binding, cracks beneath the surface of the finish on the neck, emg trim rings being warped because neck was pressing on it etc...What do you expect though? Go spend way more $$$$$$$ on a Gibson that is equiipped as well and still have some finish issues. Sweetwater made it right. If this guitar was stolen I would buy another without hesitation. It is that good even after dealing with manufacturing issues!

Wonderful Guitar!

It is a work of art and is as close to real Gibson as you can get. This is a high end Gibson that is built better and better equipped than the lower end Gibsons. It is true that Gibson has owned Epiphone since 1957 and that Epiphone Les Paul guitars are covered by the same license as Gibson Les Pauls. You can see and feel the Gibson quality in this Epiphone 100% They even used the heavier Gibson style thicker body on this one as well as the Grover tuners, Tune-O-Matic bridge, and EMG pick ups. Really, the only difference between this guitar and a Gibson is the fact that this one was assembled overseas--using Gibson parts. Save $4,000-$5,000 and buy this guitar instead!

Flat Out Amazing

This Axe is Battle Ready! For people into heavier rock tones, this guitar is for you. You can tell every aspect of the guitar has been built with high quality materials. From the head to the strap locks, this this guitar is beautiful. My only complaint would be that the string action is a tad on the high side, nothing that a new setup wouldn't take care of. It plays like a dream and with mine weighing in at over 9lbs, it feels solid in your hands. The best part is that it comes with a nice hard shell case, so it stays nice and safe during the shipping process. Mine arrived in flawless condition. If your on the fence about getting this guitar, pull the trigger and you wont regret it. It's nicer than a few Gibson's in that price range.
