A great pedal

By Jonathan from Ohio on December 23, 2017 Music Background: Mostly play worship music, indie rock, and weird ambient stuff

This is a great little overdrive. Despite lacking eq and tone controls the tone is incredible. It really emphysizes the natural tone from my tele. As advertised this is a very low gain drive. However, turning the gain past 2 o'clock delivers a good amount of punch. I'm using this as a first stage drive and it pairs very nicely with my other overdrives.

Great Overdrive

Great pedal! As close to what I wanted that I can get at a great price. i out this before a transparent compressor; joyo "pipebomb" and together I get what I want. Can't wait to put an distortion in between. I love it on my G&L tribute fallout. I'm sure I'll love it on my epiphone junior too. It turned out better than I thought it would.

Can't go wrong

This is by far my favorite overdrive pedal. I use it as my first stage overdrive so I keep it fairly light, but you can get higher gains. It is very transparent, which is super nice too. I absolutely love this pedal. You can't go wrong with it.

Awesome

The more a person gets into pedals, two criteria are usually evaluated for a new addition to the signal chain: How does it change the frequency response ? and how does it play with the guitar, effects, and amp?

On frequency response, the EM Drive lived up to it's billing. I plan to use it at the end of my chain as a boost when I need to get out in front of the mix.

On playing well with others, I had a lot of fun running a Strat into an EH Big Muff Fuzz, into the EM Drive, and finally to a Hot Rod Deluxe.

I am happy with the drive and recommend it to others.

I also need to give praise to Sweetwater. They seemed to be as excited as I was to get the pedal, and made sure it got here fast.

EM-Drive

One of the best transparent overdrives on the market today. In certain setups this pedal can take away a little bit of top end, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. And it sounds absolutely killer as a Bass guitar overdrive as well. Definitely a good pedal to have in your arsenal. Emerson does things the right way.
