I've always been skeptical when it comes to buying guitars on-line and when you add a $2500 plus price tag to it, it just plain scares me. Well, Ibanez and Sweetwater hit a home run on this one. This guitar practically plays itself. Sorry Gibson and PRS, Ibanez wins. I understand why Herman Li plays this guitar. The tonal variations are great. The pick-ups are hot. The tremolo holds great tune. It's the best playing and sounding guitar I've had in my 30+ years of performing. Plus the people at Sweetwater, Andrew in particular, made the sale a great experience. Before you spend your hard earned money on the Gibson's and PRS's, check Ibanez out. You won't be disappointed.

When you play genuine Japanese crafted Ibanez guitars you will always be pleased, however the EGEN18 Herman Li is truly in a class of its own. This isn't only the nicest Ibanez I have ever played, it is one of the nicest guitars I have ever played. The pickups allow for a whole array of tone variation with 10 different settings. You can go from blistering sonic solos, deep heavy drop metal, to warm sweet jazz and blues all in the flick of a switch. No active pickups so no annoying hum and buzz.. I proudly choose this over any PRS, Gibson Custom or Fender custom .

    Worth every penny

    1) The Flamed Maple Top is beautiful.
    2) You get the warm tone of a Mahogany body
    3) The convenience of passive pickups with the power of active
    4) The Edge Zero is amazing.
    5) The tonal capabilities are seemingly endless ( 10 different config)
and let me tell ya, they are all night and day.
    6) The scalloped frets and routed lower horn work perfectly with the already fast 5 pc. wizard neck

I wasn't too hip to the gold hardware but what else ya gonna slap on violet???
To sum it all up, A wise man once said
"$2500 is a lot of money but how much will you spend on the 4 guitars you will have to buy to achieve what the EGEN 18 does?"
Now a quick thumbs up to the guys at Sweetwater
Andrew stayed in touch with me every step of the way.
The setup was perfect. ( 2 months in and I still have not tuned this guitar.)
Every detail was exactly the way you want an online purchase to go.
To sum it all up, I've always said $2500 was too much to spend on a guitar. Now I have a new saying,
If you got it, get it
