Thermal Top technology serves up real vintage performance

Thanks to Takamine's Thermal Top technology, the EF340S TT looks, feels, and sounds like a vintage guitar. To achieve this, the EF340S TT's solid spruce top was baked in a controlled high-heat, low-oxygen environment. The EF340S TT provides you with the magical experience of a vintage guitar in a brand-new instrument.

Dreadnought body provides a loud, bold, resonant tone

One of the most common styles of acoustic guitars, the dreadnought body is relatively large, resulting in a bold and often loud tone. With square shoulders and a square bottom, dreadnought guitars have enjoyed particular success among folk and bluegrass musicians due to the dreadnought's rich, resonant quality. Pretty much the standard shape for flatpickers, dreadnoughts not only produce exceptional deep tones, they're also known for their articulation and all-around balanced sound.

TLD-2 preamp delivers natural acoustic tone onstage

The Takamine EF340S TT features an LTD-2 line driver preamp, which consists of a simple circuit that buffers the pickup and boosts your signal. This prevents the sonic degradation that frequently occurs with long cable runs. This discreetly mounted preamp is virtually invisible, with no outward sign of onboard electronics. Combined with a Palathetic pickup, the LTD-2 sounds phenomenal with no tweaking; however, three small controls for bass, mid, and treble are accessible by removing the guitar's input jack. The organic transparency of this preamp is astounding.

Takamine produces guitars of amazing quality, sound, and playability

With quality and value as guiding principles, Takamine's instruments employ the finest tonewoods and construction techniques - something you'll discover for yourself as soon as you pick up your EF340S TT for the first time.

Takamine EF340S-TT

Finally! Takamine puts a big neck on one of their models. This guitar is loud, loud, loud. The fit and finish is flawless both inside and out. If you like a traditional sound and feel, this is the one. Great action right out of the case, gig ready. The tortoise pickguard and binding are very classy. Ebony fingerboard and fretwork is smooth as silk. Tradition style tuners are smooth and rock steady. Line Driver preamp. Plug in, turn up, play. Simple. The best guitar purchase I have made in the last twenty years. Get them while they last. Sweetwaters customer service, nothing short of excellent. Get one of these now.
