Tiki Bird is a winner!
you know all the specs if you're reading this...all i can say is this is not your typical Firebird. The Steiberger tuners are excellent and really lighten the headstock as to eliminate any hint of neck dive, it balances perfectly which i've never had a firebird do before without a very wide strap. Still have to be aware of the long body and headstock though so as not to bump into anything.
I prefer full size buckers to the mini's and the '57's sound great dirty or clean. Coil taps get you into single coil tele territory, maybe not exactly but definitely in that neighborhood. Not sure i'll use the out of phase or blower switch options much but nice to have i guess. Neck through design really gives this guitar amazing sustain, clarity and depth.
The thumbwheels the bridge stis on are supposed to be 'domed' but they look perfectly flat to me? Perhaps there are domes direclty udner the brdige but i can't tell. The Bigsby creaked so i hit it with WD40, smooth now. After a good string stretching and lube of the nut and saddles, the guitar stays in tune even after aggressive trem work.
The finish is beautiful for the most part but there are some obvious paint runs and orange peel which keep it from being a perfect score.
It sounds and plays so well that I can overlook the cosmetic issues.
