An Inspired Update on an Iconic Acoustic

Epiphone's Inspired by 1964 Texan acoustic-electric guitar is more than a throwback to an iconic instrument. Epi's taken the classic Texan - advanced jumbo body shape, '60s SlimTaper neck and all - and juiced it with an improved bridge design and modern electronics. With its solid spruce top and mahogany body, the Inspired by 1964 Texan gives you big, balanced tone that's perfect for solo artists and singer-songwriters. And its Shadow Sonic amplification system lets you be stage-ready right from the get-go. Paul McCartney wrote "Yesterday" on his Texan. Now you can make your own music history - with the Epiphone Inspired by 1964 Texan.

  • Stealth electronics that give you uber-natural tone
Own a piece of music history

Paul McCartney, Peter Frampton and Noel Gallagher all used Texans (Sir Paul actually wrote "Yesterday" on his '64 Texan - and still performs with it). Epiphone celebrates this iconic instrument with the Inspired by 1964 Texan, and has one-upped the original with a state-of-the-art Shadow Sonic Amplification System and an improved, sustain-enhancing bridge design.

Great-sounding amplification - with no hum

The Epiphone Inspired by 1964 Texan's employs active amplification directly at the pickup and the entire system is fully shielded, giving you a clean signal at a healthy level - and free of hum. The soundhole-mounted preamp is powered by two 2032 lithium batteries, resulting in a system that's much lighter in weight than a conventional 9V system.

Stealth electronics that give you uber-natural tone

The Epiphone Inspired by 1964 Texan gives no clues to detract from its considerable vintage charms. The output jack is even incorporated into the endpin! But lurking just under the soundhole is a state-of-the-art preamp that gives you easy access for control over your volume, as well high- and low-frequency EQ. You also get a phase switch that instantly cuts feedback without affecting tone - very handy! The Nanoflex pickup senses both the vibrations of the strings and soundboard - for a truly acoustic amplified sound that combines accurate body and string tone with percussive attack. Sort of like having a microphone mixed with a pickup - it's the best of both worlds!
