    Great Bass

The Toby Deluxe is going to have those that can really play a Bass throwing their high dollar junk away, because that is what this Bass will make them sound like...Junk, Don't take my word for it try one, it will sell itself it doesn't need me. If you are intelligent buy it from Sweetwater I did.

When I took this one out of the box, My first thought was, the darn bass is too light ....it took me a while to get acustom the the weight . Later that night I started to feel the bass. I took it to a blue jam the next day , killer sound and Feel ... This bass made me look like a genius bass
player ..Played it next to my friend's 62 Precision, that just was just refretted. No comparison, the Toby is killer note: When you recieve the the bass, make sure you change out the battery ...... It ships with a
Cheap asian battery, that's half dead when you get it . If this bass was lost or stolen .... I would move up the food chain and get a MTD Kingston Artist or Kingston Heir .... Michael Tobias's asymmetrical neck design is outstanding and did I mention the Price $250.... Killer Epiphone deal, a steal. these won't last long.

    Great Bass!!!

Great bass for the money. Plays and sounds really good. Made in Indonesia, not China. Build quality is surprising. I would like to get a couple more. Thanks Sweetwater for the fast delivery as always.

    Even better after four years...

This is/was the first Bass I ever owned. When I first started playing the Toby, I wad annoyed with it because it occasionally made a horrible buzz. I was new and didn't know better. The bracket that held the 9V battery had come free of the adhesive that held it in place and would short across the pots. However, after wrapping the bracket in electrical tape, the buzzing never returned. It was after that fix that I was able to recognize that the Toby is well worth the money spent. The Bass still sets up wonderfully and you can dial in some low action and not get the dreaded fret buzz. PROS: lightweight, neck smooth and quick, sets up wonderfully, sounds great in passive CONS: active is a bit jarring and unbridled, the pots could use an upgrade OVERALL: this is still a fantastic Bass at its price
