Long Life and Great Feel from These Coated Bass Strings!

Ernie Ball strings have been a top choice for players of all types since the early 1960s, when guitarists came into Ernie Ball's music store, customizing their string gauges to make their axes easier to play. After fruitless attempts to interest major guitar manufacturers in a lighter set of strings, Ernie Ball decided to start making his own. When you open a pack of his strings today, you know you're getting a quality set of strings designed to give you great tone, reliable performance, and long life. You can't go wrong when you string up with Ernie Ball strings!

Ernie Ball Coated Bass Hybrid Bass Strings are heavily used by both amateurs and professional musicians. Made from nickel plated steel (NPS) windings wrapped around tin plated, hex shaped steel core wire, Slinkys produce a well balanced, all-around great sound, no matter what your playing style.

Ernie Ball's Coated Electric Titanium RPS Super Slinky Strings combine the latest technological advancements in string manufacturing. All wound strings are treated with a micro-thin layer of enamel that prevents decay and corrosion up to five times more than uncoated sets. In addition to treating the wound strings, each plain string features a rust-resistant plating along with a patented reinforcement winding of titanium wire. Titanium's inherent strength prevents string breakage, string slippage, and is proven to keep your bass strings in tune better than conventional plain strings. Ernie Ball Coated Slinky bass strings maintain the feel and sound of uncoated sets, combining the added protection with the vibrant tone Ernie Ball customers have relied on for over 50 years.

Not impressed

I bought these on a whim, just to try something different. I usually play GHS Boomers. I put these on my Geddy Lee Jazz and immediately noticed that when my hands got warmed up and sweaty that the strings felt sticky. I just could not get away from them! From a pure tone perspective they were okay, but they faded fast and within four weeks there was no presence left in them and I replaced them. I should note that I used them during three rehearsals (about 8 hours total) and roughly 12 hours of at home practice. I am back using GHS Boomers.
