Countryman ECRT EarClip for Earset Microphones - Right Side / Tan Reviews

Right-side EarClip for Countryman E6 and E6i EarSet - Tan

The Countryman E6 EarClip is the perfect complement to your Countryman E6i EarSet or E6 microphones. The E6 EarClip gives you adjustable, comfortable two-ear support that's incredibly discreet, putting the microphone down on the right side of the performer or speaker's face. Comprising the same excellent materials as Countryman's EarSets, the E6 EarClip tolerates makeup, sweat, and weather well, while remaining virtually unnoticeable onstage. The E6 comes with a 1mm EarClip cable clip and a 2mm EarClip cable clip in appropriate matching colors. For excellent microphone stability onstage, depend on the Countryman E6 EarClip.

Not the best tool for the job, just the only tool.

By Sweetwater Customer on February 1, 2024

I've purchased 3 or 4 of these over the years as a tech director for my church. They do a decent job of stabilizing traditional (e6?) countryman mics. You will lose the little cable retaining clips quickly and have to start wrapping the cable around the headset itself, which works pretty well. Eventually someone will mishandle it while adjusting or taking it off their head and it will lose the ability to adjust the size.

They're too expensive, not very durable, but are helpful in making traditional countryman mics more stable.

If I could go back, I would purchase exclusively H6 models which do a much better job of stabilizing as they have a better-designed, integrated dual-ear mount.

Countryman ECRT EarClip for Earset Microphones - Right Side / Tan - An Excellent Product!

By Harvey Teale on March 30, 2023 Music Background: Small Studio Recording Engineer; Church PA System Engineer/Operator

The Countryman ECRT EarClip is a relatively inexpensive piece of gear that extends the E6/E6i Earset so it goes over both ears instead of just one ear like it would otherwise. This essentially turns the E6/E6i into a headset with somewhat similar qualities to the H6 headset, but for a lower price than the H6. If you get the right variety of the E6/E6i Earset for your application, it is a high quality microphone with excellent, dependable sound and is comfortable to wear (when adjusted properly). The ECRT EarClip provides the advantage of allowing the E6/E6i Earset to be worn over both ears for increased stability/dependability. The only downside to this combination that I'm aware of is that the pieces clip together and if one assembles and dis-assembles them repeatedly this will put wear on them, particularly where the clip on the ECRT EarClip clips onto the E6/E6i Earset. But overall it's a good setup. It is advisable to get a separate plastic box that is large enough to store the assembled headset in so that one doesn't have to dis-assemble it to store it (the case Countryman provides for the E6/E6i Earset isn't large enough for this purpose). Note that there are two versions of the ECRT EarClip, each available in several colors. Get the one that says Right Side if you want the microphone boom of the E6/E6i Earset to be on the right side of the wearer's face. If it says Left Side it will put the microphone boom on the left side of the face. The color of the ECRT EarClip should match the color of the E6/E6i Earset.

Problem Solved

Have the microphone made by Countryman that this earclip fits. The microphone only goes around one ear, and it kept slipping. This totally solved the problem by having an earclip around each ear.

Countryman E6 EarClip

By Wayne Perlich from Los Angeles, CA USA on December 31, 2012 Music Background: Live sound engineer

Functionally, I'd rate the EarClip as a 4 or 4.5. It does a really good job of stablizing the E6. It easily clips onto the E6. has reasonably good adjustment range for various head sizes.

The only in use issue is the little plastic clips that secure the cable to the back of the headband. These are not very secure. The cable is easily pulled out of the clip, and the clip itself is easily lost. For the price of these tiny clips, you'd think they'd be designed better.

The other issue is that this is a sole source item, and it is very expensive for what it is. It's a cost that must grudingly be paid for the added wear stability. Because of the cost, and they silly little, plastic cable clips, I down-graded the overall rating to 3.5.

The biggest positive was working with Sweetwater. They're great. If they have what I need, my next purchase will be thru them.
