Excellent product

The E6 is a great product- imitated by many but not surpassed by anyone yet. It seems to have been improved from the units I bought years ago. It sounds more natural and it is more robust, although being gentle with them is still essential. One day someone will make one just as good for less but for now, this is the one to buy IMHO.(The wireless system you choose to go with it is very important and we have had the most success with the Sennheisers.)

Great Directional Earset

My husband and I both purchased this item from Sweetwater. We absolutely love this earset mic. The sound quality is amazing. I had a handheld wireless Sennheiser before, and although that sounded great, this earset mic is phenomenal. Our voices sound clear and natural. My husband had an omnidirectional countryman before and when I would sing, my husbands mic would pick up my vocals and cause a bleed over into his harmonizer and back out the speakers making me sound like I had multiple high pitched voices. It was awful. But with these new mics (being unidirectional - cardioid), there's no bleed over, and the sound quality is excellent. I highly recommend this mic.

Nothing But Trouble

We've had nothing but issues with this mic. We originally thought,"hey, these other 'knock-off' mics don't sound that good, let's get the best and get a Countryman." So we sprung for a $460+ E6.Within months we were having issues with distortion and poor sound quality. I thought maybe our speaker got too excited and hollered a little too loud and possibly overloaded the capsule. Note, we had it placed in proximity to the mouth as suggested by the manufacturer's instructions. I sent it in and Sweetwater sent it through to Countryman. Countryman claimed that we operated it without the "protective" capsule cover, however, we never operated the mic without the "directional hyper-cardioid" capsule. They said the earpiece had to be replaced for $175.We got it back and it worked great for a few more months. Then, out of the blue, we started getting loud pops, clicks, and crackling from the mic. It was unusable...again. This time, the issue seems to be emanating from the connection between the earpiece and the cable. We've tried re-seating the connection, tried taping the connection for strain-relief, and even told the speaker to reduce head movement. None of this worked. So now the mic is being sent in for repair...again.Sweetwater has provided exceptional customer service throughout all of this. However, I will never buy another Countryman headset mic again. I will also look elsewhere for direct boxes. Countryman has proven to me that they overcharge for a questionable quality product and remains silent on the customer service front (emails sent directly to them remain unanswered).

Doesn't live up to the name

The length of the boom is so short that the gain has to be turned up too high. Rejectivity is so low that sounds from the back of the room are noticeable. The audio frequency response makes voices seem dry and cold. We already replaced it after just two weeks. The heavy duty cord may keep it from being damaged, but it also makes the wire so stiff that the mic wont stay in place wihout being taped behind the ear Disappointed
