    Great Little Amp

I've been a proponent of Peavey equipment for almost 40 years--going back to the first PA system I ever purchased in 1975. This is the first of their guitar amps I've ever purchased.
I must say I am impressed. While it does not have as much headroom as the Marshall AS50D--which is rated at 50 watts, while this is rated at 30 watts--the Marshall has a street price which is almost double this and with no more features than this offers. [I used to own the aforementioned model by Marshall]. I actually like the tone this offers better than the Marshall also. Even though the Marshall was supposed to be an acoustic amp--where clean tone and a lack of THD is a necessity, I found the Marshall still sounded like a Marshall--overdriven and distorted.
Not so with the Peavey Even with the gain and volume set at the 3 o'clock position, the tone sounded clean.
This amp works well as a small practice amp or for gigging in smaller venues.
If the amp has a weakness, it would be the FX. It only offers chorus [switchable between Channels 1 and 2, but not both simultaneously] and reverb [channel 2 only]. That is the only reason I gave it less than a five. However I run my guitar signal through a Zoom A2 and find it to be a very good combination

Great little studio amp with one flaw

Great amp to have in the studio. I would have given it 5 stars except the chorus drive me crazy. WAY too much hiss. I can't believe Peavey would build an amp and put it on the market with that kind of problem. Everything else about the amp is right on.

    Can't stand the hiss!

It's made in China. Never would have bought it if I knew that.

    Peavey E208 hassles

This Peavey amp is loud when you are playing the only trouble is when you stop, there is a hissing song that is very annoying. I like the two speakers they are fine. The amp is light and easy to carry. It's just to noisy for me to use on a job. I really wish I would/t have purchased it. I guess it is ok for bedroom playing around for starting out musicians. I have had Peavey amps before and where happy with them years ago so, I can't believe that they would put an amp like this on the market!
