Compact 808 Mod Machine

Borrowing heavily from the popular Palisades pedal, EarthQuaker Devices distilled much of their heavily modified 808 overdrive sound in the compact Dunes stompbox. In addition to Gain, Tone, and Level controls, the Dunes comes equipped with three selectable voices, two bandwidth settings, and a bright switch - the go-to features that have made the Palisades one of the overdrive pedals gigging guitarists at Sweetwater like to recommend. The voices include crunchy MOSFET and smooth silicon transistor settings, as well as gritty op-amp distortion (that's settings 3, 5, and 1 on the Palisades). You can also focus your sound with either "stock" bandwidth or full range if you need extra low end, allowing the EarthQuaker Devices Dunes to deliver a massive range of tone, without cramming your pedalboard.

From the pedal gurus at EarthQuaker Devices

EarthQuaker Devices is a boutique pedal company based out of Akron, Ohio. They put all of their focus on building tools for musicians to find their own tone. Their designs range from enhanced classics to pedals that have never been seen or heard before. Company founder Jamie Stillman was working with rock band the Black Keys when he came upon a design that kick-started the company's success. EarthQuaker Devices is committed to helping you find your tone with high-quality products at great prices.

EarthQuaker Devices The Dunes Overdrive Guitar Pedal Features:
  • A scaled-down version of the popular Palisades overdrive pedal
  • Includes 3 types of modified 808-style guitar overdrive effects
  • Shape your tone with 2 bandwidth settings for increased definition
  • Bright switch lets you kick the high end into high gear for added air
  • Compact format won't crowd your guitar pedalboard
The Dunes by EarthQuaker Devices packs a ton of overdrive in a compact pedal!

Versatile Dirt Machine

I probably didn't need to buy seeing how I have 30 plus pedals but I'm glad I did. All kinds of different tones in this thing. Sounds fantastic with the best build quality out there! Top mounted power supply and jacks help save space on an already cramped board. True bypass and bueatiful sparkle white finish round out this reasonably priced top notch tube screamer style pedal. Does crunchy, smooth singing leads with great harmonics. If your looking for a do it all dirt box and don't need blistering metal levels of distortion this thing is a winner! As always fantastic customer service with seriously the fastest delivery in the industry! Take the plunge you won't be disappointed.

Good until you engage the bandwidth, then it's defective

The pedal is not a bad, it's has a good crunch to it in most settings and in the normal setting the pedal goes loud, which is awesome that's until you get the bandwidth switch, the pedal just phases in and out in volume, like a tremolo, but it's not a tremolo it's an overdrive. I've had the pedal exchanged for another through sweetwater's awesome service and still the same issue. avoid this pedal; it's not well made.
