Found A Perfect Travel Buddy
Martin has done an exceptional job setting up its Factory in Mexico. Flawless fit and finish. After peeking under the hood with my trusty mirror, I found NO imperfections. For just over 600 bones, you get all solid wood, electronics and 1/4" scalloped top braces. The combination of a hand rubbed finish, light bracing and sapele top produces a Bright and Clear sound. The depth and wide hips of this little dread also gives it that bassy Martin sound. The 24" scale an 1 3/4" nut makes for an extremely easy playing experience. At 51, I appreciate those dimensions. My first Richlite fingerboard guitar. Research indicates this stuff is extremely hard, durable and thermal resistant. Perfect for keeping the neck straight for my road worthy friend. It seems the hard fingerboard also adds to the treble response. I had the saddle action lowered and put on elixir lights and she was ready. I was initially expecting a step down in building quality due to being built in Mexico. The build quality to my little gem is second to none. Do not expect fancy features such as hide glue, back strip, binding and the like. Just the basics at an unbelievable price point.
