Never ceases to amaze me how great and powerful these speakers are. Just remember to keep some ground adapters with you because ever now and then, they might hum without them. But superbly great!

Yamaha DXR10 - the real deal

By Gene Holdway from Greer, SC on April 11, 2019 Music Background: Solo Performer, Bluegrass band member, aspiring recording engineer, FOH engineer

I"m a year late writing this review but need to catch up. I"m a solo/duo acoustic performer gigging about 3 times a month. Starting using one Dxr10 for smaller indoor gigs instead of my Bose L1 model 2. I felt the Bose was overkill for some rooms though I still use it at specific gigs. I have a Tonematch T1 mixer that i"ve Dialed in over time I use it with both setups for consistency of sound.

Bottom line, the DXR has absolutely amazed me with headroom, quality of sound, bass response in a small unit. It"s smooth, clear and easy. So good that I now own a second one. Amazing when I need both. Great as a monitor setup or FOH. I"m finding I load one of these now for most gigs of 75 people or less. It"s all I need. Sound is excellent at any volume level. I use the roll off at 100 hz and it"s great. Acoustic performers can use this with no sub and you will be amazed.

Don"t demo it unless you want to be lusting after it.

Great speaker

By Lance on June 25, 2018

This is actually the second DXR10 I've bought. I got the first one as a full range speaker for my Line 6 Helix. It worked out great. I've just added a second for our band's PA to use either as FOH or as monitors. This speakers get LOUD and stay clean with lots of punch.

Yamaha DXR10

By Juan from Fl on October 24, 2017 Music Background: musician

This little speaker more than met my expectations. It is crisp ,clean and faithfully reproduces the intended input signal as a FR/FR (Full Range / Flat Response) should. I am using it to monitor my Fractal AX8 amp/effects processor live on stage , and its is an awesome addition to my rig ,with plenty of power that can be heard over the live band setting on stage. I highly recommend this speaker for this purpose as per my impression based on use my situation. To my ears this is superb, but its only my observation,as everyone is different.

Yamaha DXR10

By Pat Phillips from Spartanburg SC on April 28, 2017 Music Background: Not Even Brothers Duo

This is a great speaker! We use it as a monitor and sometimes as a satellite speaker. The bass response is full and rich and the vocals are clean and crisp. We use Bose, Yamaha and JBL (L1) as a main PA, depending on the venue and crowd size and this speaker compliments each system.

Great speakers that are easy to carry with a clean and powerful sound

Fantastic sound and typical Yamaha quality

By GeoMama from Santa Barbara on February 19, 2017 Music Background: professional Jazz pianist

I bought a pair of DXR10 Powered Speakers to replace two Mackie SRM350's that I have used with a Roland RD-700GX for the past 11 years. Although the Mackies have been great, the DXR10's are a level above in warmth, quietness of operation and accuracy of reproduction. They are fantastic when it comes to reproducing a full, rich acoustic piano sound and unbelievable in attack and fidelity for a Fender Rhodes sample instrument that I have created. The fit and finish is typical Yamaha. Design, construction, and performance are as good as it gets.

Extremely pleased with this purchase. Sound is incredible from such a small speaker.

Very happy with this purchase. The speakers sound amazing and at a very manageable weight

Great FRFR speaker

By Ron York from Dewey, AZ on November 25, 2016

I bought this speaker to use as an amp for my new Fractal AX8, so I could simulate the PA I play through at church. The sounds are very similar and it's great for practicing, plenty of volume from a small speaker to practice at my house, and great sound quality from Yamaha.

Hi Fi Magic for Acoustic Guitar/Vocals

By David P from Salem, Ma on January 30, 2016 Music Background: Singer/Songwriter/Performer since 1966

This year, 2016, I'm celebrating my 50th year of performing, and over the years I have used countless combinations of speakers and mixers. These days, I play mostly small to medium size venues (50-150 people), and after doing some research, I purchased one of the Yamaha DXR10 speakers to use with my Yamaha MG10XU mixer. The DXR10 performed flawlessly, and though I was confident that the one speaker rig would continue to do the job for me, I couldn't resist purchasing a second DXR10 last week. I used both speakers for the first time last night, with a cozy stereo set-up, and the experience was fantastic!!! I was able to play in close proximity to the speakers without any feedback issues at all.

My sales engineer, Shaka Dhladhla, was most helpful, and patient as I pondered the many options before me. As soon as I gave him the word, he had my new DXR10s at my door in just two days time.

While I don't know how much longer I'll be gigging steadily, I do know that the sound of these DXR10 speakers will always put a smile on my face. In the spring I plan to add one of the DXS12 subs to my system. Very happy in Salem, David

I purchased the Yamaha DXR 15's last year and I'm so happy with them that I bought these DXR 10's to lighten my load for smaller gigs.
I am so impressed with these speakers. I'm a mobile DJ and these speakers just rock!!! I don't think you can purchase a better speaker in this price range or even one that's more expensive.

I love these speakers.

Accurate, Clean

By Tim Bly from Portland, Oregon on June 24, 2013 Music Background: Many Years of Music and Audio

I love my Yamaha DXR 10's. I've used them as Mains, Monitors, and a Drum Monitor in a last minute situation. My Sax and Vocals are easily heard at all times. Wow! Thank You Yamaha and SweetWater! My buddies own the QSC K10's and they're nice also. Not nice enough to justify the extra money.
By the way, the DSP is sweet for loudness accuracy, and no feedback.
Some gigs I grab my Sax, Wireless Mic, and my Yamaha DXR 10. No graphic eq and no feedback. Nice!

Yamaha DXR10 Rocks

By Marty R from Greensboro, NC on June 17, 2013 Music Background: Musician Hobbyist

I'm using my Yamaha DXR10 for a monitor with my Kemper Profiling Pre-Amp, and it sounds like heaven. I did a lot of looking around on blogs and such before choosing this model, and I have not been disappointed. Currently, I play at church and out and about when opportunity presents itself and use this little baby as a personal monitor for vocals and guitar.

Worth every penny

By buzzard from Salt Lake City on September 17, 2012 Music Background: Hobbyist

Yamaha has made a great product in the DXR10. Effortlessly loud, accurate, sweet, and piece of cake to set-up and get right. Now I want two more.

BTW, the QSC K10 bag fit this pretty well.

Don't hesitate

By Matt from Fort Wayne, IN on August 14, 2012 Music Background: 20 yr. Hobbyist

I must admist that I am a gear junkie and guitar player of sorts. I have been searching for something that I could use in my basement (and other small venues) for some time. I ran a across some good reviews on this product and decided to take the plunge. I use a pair of this with a live band set up: electric guitar, acoustic guitar, electronic drum kit, and a few mics. This system handles it with ease. The clarity and voice of each instrument is beyond accurate and spot on. I have also used a line 6 pod hd 500 and the sound is amazing! I mean that amazing. I haven't owned a solid state amp in the last 20 years and to my ears the warmth of this pair is supersonic. Also, the bass is response is remarkably tight, punchy, and deep. If you were blindfolded there is no way that you could guess that these are 10" drivers. They are pricey, but I am all smiles after using them in my home studio.

perfect

Impressed!

By Chris from Toronto, Canada on March 10, 2012 Music Background: Singer

This speaker is very clear and warm, i am impressed with yamahas latest releases, they keep getting better and better. In my opinion i compared in the music store, this speaker to the JBL PRX12M and while its good, yamaha had that extra warmth and clarity i was looking for. Compare and see for yourself.

Great Speaker for the Money

By Dan Austin from Buffalo, NY on August 12, 2014 Music Background: Live Sound Engineer, Indie Musician, Worship Pastor

These things are amazing for the price. I spec'd two of these boxes as flown mains for a small church install. The room seats about 100 people, and two DXR10s flown with U-Brackets (also available from Yamaha) provide more than enough clarity, power, punch, and headroom when combined with a single DXS15 subwoofer. Low midrange frequencies are understandably less present than designs with a 12" or 15" woofer, but the weight-saving and low profile design were well worth it for the needs of this particular church. The flown DXR10s and a DXS15 on the ground replaced a pair of S115Vs on poles powered by a Behringer EP2500. The improvement in clarity, vocal intelligibility, punch, and output is incredible.

Keeps Up With My Loud Guitarist

By Chad Klink from Beaver Dam, WI on February 3, 2018 Music Background: Rock/Blues/Electronic

I don't play out that often. Between the one or two shows we play and the jams/practices, I would put the number of times this amp is used per year at 10-12. I play a Hammond SK1-73 through this and have it on a pole at about head level. I'm looking for portable, ample headroom and clarity.

The group is loud. We play various rock and blues tunes. After reading tons of positive reviews, I settled on this one in the hopes I could get in the mix without pushing an amp too hard. My Motionsound KBR-M didn't cut it and I blew the HF driver in my Peavey KB/A 30 trying. This amp puts me in the mix cleanly without breaking a sweat. I even used it for my vocals one time and was happy. I run my phone through one of the channels when we're learning new tunes. It has some options for sound character that work alright. However, I would prefer a 3 channel EQ on the amp. Not that I think it really needs one, it's very good as is. I only use a little of the EQ abilities of my Hammond SK1 to get me right where I want.
