Great Deal!

This is my third Martin, I have the Ed Sheeran LX1E little Martin, the DX12XAE 12 string, and now the DX1KAE. Love both previous guitars and this model is superb as well. It plays great and sounds great. It's not eye candy, but is definitely worth every penny. May not be flashy but I find it a nice looking guitar, this is the Koa and looks nice to me. I have to say the action is really nice and it holds it's tune as well. Really happy I added a six string Martin to my ever growing stable of guitars, which include EJ-200, Fender T-Bucket 400CE, Seagull Excursion Folk, Ibanez AW54, and a very old Ventura V-29 which was my first guitar, I was 18 then. I am 64 now and still enjoy playing as much as ever. I'm not rich so these axes suit me just fine. I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for an entry level Martin. As usual Sweetwater did their setup on the guitar, and it played great right out of the box. Thanks.
Music background: Just love playing my gits!

Majestic Martin Tone

I've had this guitar for almost 2 years and it is simply amazing in sound and playability. I was under the assumption for a long time to get a quality guitar you had to spend thousands of dollars and it had to be made in the U.S.A. This is absolutely untrue. The Mexican line of Martin's are beautiful quality guitars with that signature Martin tone. I've gotten many complements on how nice this guitar sounds at gigs and open mics. I have a friend in another band that uses this guitar when we play shows together because he loves the sound so much. I highly recommend this guitar. You'll fall in love with the tone and you will not want to put it down when you first get it.

Great Guitar, Outstanding value

My wife asked me what i wanted for my 50th birthday, I told her a Martin guitar. I should have been more specific and said a D28, however this guitar is an outstanding instrument for the price it is sold for. It has great tone and projection. It looks great and note separation is just beautiful. I have small hands and the neck took a little getting used to as i have played only Taylor guitars for the last 20 yrs. The action was good for me but could have been just a tiny bit lower. It's the tone of this guitar that really has got me convinced. Maybe some day that D28 will find it's way under a Christmas tree but for now this guitar will be just fine. A quick shout out to Ashton at Sweetwater. They have been absolutely fantastic.

Much more than I expected

I was a little hesitant to purchase a guitar made with High Pressure Laminate back and sides. I was wrong however in my reluctance. This guitar is everything I could ask for and more at this price point. I can not tell that the back and sides are not actually milled wood and the look and feel is amazing. The real deal here though is the sound. The guitar has the same warm lows that more expensive Martins are know for even with it not being all wood. The solid spruce top creates a loud and rich tone that fills the room. The neck is the most playable neck right out of the box of any guitar I have played (acoustic or electric). This is the best guitar I have ever played and I expect I will have a long future with my DX1KAE.
